Also saving these links:
Marullus wrote: Tue Dec 15, 2020 1:42 am I would recommend skimming the list of Lovecraft titles for something evocative:

I did some digging around. Dhole's online tool defaults to 550 points for the Point Buy Method. The CoC Investigator's book has 460 points for the Point Buy. If you look at Quick-Fire Hero Creation in the Pulp guide on pg 41, and add up all the points there, you get 500 points, but with specific numbers: 90 in the Cor Char., then 80, 70, 60, 60, 50, 50, 40 in the remaining attributes as you see fit.

However, Dhole's calculator includes Luck, and you can't drop it below 40. So that drops the Point Buy total to 510 points. Per the Pulp guide initial Luck is calculated: (2d6+6) x 5 for a range of 40 to 90. So it looks like Dhole is starting characters at the low end of luck.

So here is what I'm suggesting when using Dhole's site:
  1. Drop luck down to 40
  2. Set your Core Attribute at 95
  3. Allocate the remaining points as you see fit
    • Keep in mind the average human values are as follows (CoC Invest. HB pg 46):
      • STR 50
      • CON 50
      • SIZ 65
      • DEX 50
      • APP 50
      • INT 50
      • POW 50
      • EDU 70 (bachelors degree)
  4. Then manually (on the charsheet) set initial Luck at 65

I have noticed one flaw in the website. Do not allocate any points to Locksmith until you get to personal interest otherwise, you lose those points. It is the only one that I have seen this happen while playing it with, but make sure to check your numbers just in case.

Thanks Bluehorse...I added a Google Drive link in "The Investigators" thread. You should be able to upload your pdf charsheet from the Dhole site to that Google Drive.

Just tried and wasn't able to. Won't get a good chance to again until tomorrow.

A new player (TheBerbs) has joined the US and has asked if we still have room here in the campaign. I would like to get everyone's opinion on the matter. 7 is the max I am comfortable GM-ing, at least in D&D. We have 6 players here now. My first priority is to ensure everyone has a voice in the campaign and that their character's voices don't get drowned out. I have, in the past, had other players come in and play NPC's (rather than me doing it), where I give them the high level intent of the NPC and they run with. I don't know how well that would work here for CoC.

Thoughts?

I trust your judgement and am not concerned either way.

I'm with Marullus. IMHO, it comes down to what the GM/DM/Keeper feels he can comfortably handle.

Whatever you are comfortable with for sure. Since they are new to the Unseenservant and I am in a bunch of games, if you want to limit it to 6 I can step out so they have a spot.

Did we settle in a specific year this will start in?

In the Campaign Info thread I have Year listed as Late 1920's, early 1930's. My intent is to center things around 1927, but there will be some fudging when it comes to the actual scenarios. So events and the physical aspects within scenarios will range from the mid 20's through mid-30's. Roughly speaking :)

10-4 sounds good :) I didn't realize we were operating that range officially. Thought it might have been a temporary estimate. Happy to hear it won't be exact.

Can people open the PDFs on the google drive?

Mine works for me on my computer, but after I put it on the google drive it has a strange error page instead of its contents. One of the other PC sheets has the same error but the other looks fine. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this.
