In theory, it is possible - but you are in your hotel in a conference in civies. There is a coffee pot, and a small blade used for fruit-paring, various crockery items and a large vase with flowers.

The Navy Officers are in undress uniform...so they won't be carrying.

Are you angling for the role of Captain? Was a direct question from the Navy to Indrani and specifies the ship not conference.

Tiberius choose Pranit to chair the meeting with his votes. My guess is he would not choose him as Captain of a ship just yet. I mean random guy wanders in and gets elected ship capt'...

And Pranit is jobless too though I do note that a vacancy may exist for an astrogator on the Queen if it flies again.

That's a good question to settle after we determine how the ship will operate per the owners.

A consideration is how strictly the GM will rule on the Master's Certificate and other regs regarding ship's crew. In civilized areas, people have to be licenced.

The local regs need to go on the wiki it seems!

The Belt you can't move without a ship...so the rules are a bit more lax than some other places.

Generally some level of competence in Pilot(Spaceship) is required for the helm role. and some level of Astrogation skill for the Astrogator's position. Engineers probably get past the interview more easily if they are the member of the appropriate society, but the word of mouth route is more prevalent in the belt than on New Earth.

As an Ex-Naval Deck Officer, Indrani is certified in both.

It has been suggested that all that is needed is for her to qualify is to pay the registration fee (Cr500) to get the Captain's Certificate!
