Queen of the Belt

#1 Post by BackworldTraveller »

Official Description
Queen of the Belt
Note: The Secret page info notes things that can be found out with a bit of Computer time and due-diligence.
Ownership
Per Wiki
Certification
Per Wiki
Floorplans
Deck Layout. n.b. Down is aft, along thrust axis.

Bow

Deck 1: Bridge

Top left is a Missile/Sandcaster Turret: Basically pops the missiles/barrels out of the tube and then they orientate themselves and off they go in whatever direction. Full load is 8 missiles and 6 barrels. Externally loaded only!
To its right is part of the sensors array.
Then there is the crew lift and lift corridor with the main computer cores and data storage units in cabinets along the wall. A cuddy-hatch for more sensor gear.
There's a fresher for the crew's comfort. The main bridge is the rest of the space with Ship-System's Control Desk and the desk for the three Flight Crew - notably including the Pilot. The other two flight crew seats could be used by Astrogation, Sensors and/or Gunners.

Deck 2: Crew Deck

Airlock, Staterooms (one for Captain - Terrible bed linen!), Pop-Up Gun Turret. Lift to all decks.
Crew Lounge with seating, treadmill, coffee pot, fridge, sink and microwave.
Cabin Assignments (Top Row: 1,2,3; Bottom row:4,5,6)
1: Captain Indrani Carter
2:Nalani Shiraishi + Assana Pinto
3:Reven Stiilpahth
4:Pranit Kilrane-Bewoor
5: Maggie Holtz
6:Arnwulf Lugersen

Deck 3: Passenger Deck

Passenger staterooms, galley and library. Note this is as per the original yard description.
The library seems to have a larger number of books on Sea-Life than on any other topic.
Staterooms are currently designated (to the left, top to bottom) P1 to P4 and L1 and (to the right) P5 to P8 and L2

Deck 4: Freezer Deck.

Air Lock, Low Berths (each room contains 3 x3-high bunks and 2x2-high bunks), waiting area and lifts access.

Deck 5: Vehicle Deck.

Big open hanger space for vehicle, with vacuum-safe storage for needed maintenance equipment. Lifts for Crew (top) and Passengers (bottom). Why the vessel appears to have two drop-pod launchers isn't clear. It's not enough for full evacuation of all passengers and crew!

Same deck with air-raft for scale.

Deck 6:Cargo Deck

Lift, storage lockers (part of ships locker) and cargo space. Containers can be moved using inbuilt rollers in the floor and/or adjusting the Artificial Gravity. The floor also has restraint points for securing cargo.

Deck 7:Power Deck

One great big Fusion Powerplant. And a workshop.

Deck 8:Manoeuver Deck

Queen of the Belt's Computer
The computer is INT:6 (DM:+0) with voice and keyboard interfaces.
It has a "Friendly, Female" personality interface and goes by the name "Hun"

It has up to 10 threads that can be run at once. Usually 6 are running security and ship systems, leaving 4 for other tasks.

The Queen runs the following skills software on dedicated threads:

Security
The computer has the best security software you can get (DM:-4 Vs Hacking). This is always running and takes 2 threads. It can recognise individuals and has access to the sensors and door-locks.

Engineer
The computer has Engineering software for running the Power, Life Support and M-Drive/Gravitics (DM:+0).These are running if these systems are operating and take one CPU unit each (i.e. usually 3 threads).

Mechanic
The computer has Mechanic software for fault monitoring (DM:+0). This is running if the CPU is up and takes one thread.

n.b. The computer has no ability to manipulate tools. It can operate the power, etc on command.

Any remaining threads can be used to operate the following software:

Pilot(Spacecraft)
This is the auto-pilot. It can automatically dock, and fly a course. Most ports require that the docking be overseen by qualified pilot. It takes one thread when operating.

Electronics(Comms)
This is the comms monitor (DM:+0). It will make connections and try to send and receive messages. It takes one thread when operating.

Electronics(Computer)
This is the ships database search agent (DM:+0). It takes one thread when operating. It can be spun-up multiple times to undertake multiple searches.

Electronics(Sensor Operations)
This is the basic sensor watch (DM:+0). It takes one thread when operating. n.b. Internal sensors are automatically monitored by the Security software.

The computer also has a number of databases: The EDU rating is how good the database is in it's specified area of expertise. n.b. the date of the latest updates.

Ship Operating Manual
(EDU:15)

New Earth Astrogation Guide (290)
(EDU:15)

Ship Recognition Guide (290)
(EDU:15)

Entertainments Library (290)
(EDU:15)

Encyclopedia (290)
(EDU:15)

Mono's Law Guide (290)
(EDU:6)
Basic introduction to the laws of the various states in the system. It always recommends that you hire a lawyer for specific details.

Ships Accounting Database
(EDU:6)
n.b. Includes Parts Inventory, Crew Manifest, Passenger Manifest and Cargo Manifest. Also includes a copy of the ships registry and certification.

Blackbox
(EDU:15).
n.b. This holds 13 weeks of data. Older data is effectively cleaned at the end of each day as new days overwrite the oldest dates.

In Virtual, the ship represents visitors by the holo-image in their ship profile (pulled from the security system) and itself as:
  • A web of light connections from core to peripherals. Peripherals are represented at the relevant physical location in a wire-frame of the QotB.
  • As an Asteroid at the core of the web with one air-lock entry point. This may be a representation of a real asteroid.
  • As a 3-D image of the woman used as the ships logo
  • As rooms inside the asteroid

Outstanding Work
Admin
Watch, Quarter and Station Bill
Flight Worthiness Certificate
Employee and 3rd Party Liability Insurance

Air-Raft
The Air-Raft is absent. It is listed on the ship's asset register as valued at Cr450,000.
n.b. It was missing before the navy took over so there is no comeback there (Has it been reported stolen?)
The air-car currently present is Pranit's private vehicle.

Annual Maintenance and Re-Certification
The Annual Maintenance is overdue and the space-worthiness certification has lapsed.
Estimated cost Cr 45,000 including Cr16,000 of stateroom redecoration.

Drop pod launchers
No pods. These aren't usually available on the open market.

Hull
This has been holed and patched. Survey has confirmed the extent of the damage.
Cr 8,000 of material is required to fix the damage properly. This has been delivered but is piled on the crew deck
(n.b. Full Strength is 65 Hull Points; 7 have been lost by the damage - per survey 300-004/005)

Life Support
The life support system has to be completely recharged.
Total cost Cr 50,000 or which Cr18,000+Cr24,000=Cr42,000 has been spent to date.
P1 humidifier is miss-reading the atmosphere as dry and re-humidifying to its utmost extent-causing bad condensation.
CO2 scrubbers in Freezer Deck are not operating effectively.
There has been mention of a cleaning bot, but it isn't inventoried and hasn't been seen.
Door seals are good but have all expired. They need to be stripped and replaced. (CR50 per passenger door (inc. drop pod access); CR1000 for cargo door; Cr200 for vehicle bay door)

M-Drive
The M-Drive is fully functional, but is old and no longer manufactured. No immediate cost.

Powerplant
The powerplant is very well maintained and of a particularly reliable model.

Sensor Array
This consists of LADAR, RADAR and a Jamming Array
Currently suffering from age-related degradation of the antennae, and obsolescence on the electronics boards.
(-1 DM on detection/jamming modifiers)
An antenna replacement will cost Cr410,000.

Decor
P1 to P8 and L1 to L2 need redecorating as well as the life-support upgrade...and about 2 hours of deep clean each.
The Low Berths just need a deep-clean of about 30 mins each.
The taps and showerhead in L1 and L2 (Inventoried as "Gold Plated") are strangely missing and the water shut off
P6 has all its soft furnishings and moveable furniture missing.

Workshop
The workshop inventory needs to be sorted out following the missile explosion. All the machinery needs to be serviced and re-lubricated. 8 hours work.

Inventory
A full inventory of the vessel needs to be undertaken and the ships inventory updated. 30 mins per room except Workshop (above), and the Galley, Library, Engineering and Bridge spaces which will be an hour each.

Damage from recent gun-fight
Hole in lift back panel on crew deck due to thermite grenade
Hole in lift side panel on crew deck due to border's cutting charge
Hole in crew-deck floor/passenger deck ceiling due to thermite grenade
Hole in computer power supplies due to gunfire
Damage to radio-aerial cover from gunfire
Scraped paintwork from crash into bay hatch
Scrapes due to crash into air-raft
Damage to passenger air-lock electronics connector port due to hacker attaching equipment (and it then being removed by force)
Mine planted in the Passenger Lift Shaft
Bullet marks/holes in décor and furniture on crew deck
Cameras non-functional in Lift-Shaft, Bridge and Passenger Air-Lock, Crew Air-Lock, Freezer Deck and some external cameras (where they were scraped off)
Malfunctioning or misaligned manoeuvre thruster.
Mixed cargo due to spin.
Crew deck furniture damage due to grenade
Passenger deck furniture damage due to spin.
Hole in décor in Pranit's shower due to gunshot to ceiling!
