"Why don't we start with exactly what you want me to do? I'm seeing an image of a room that looks like it could be arrested for B+E on its own, and you tell me to somehow use this to get you inside the Geongseong Facility?" The man takes a draw on his cigar, then there is the brief high-pitched whine of a linescrubber starting up, letting you know the call is now secured. "If this is some kind of code, I'm not sure I'm understanding it, kid. You can speak freely for the next few minutes, so just come out and tell me what you want me to do; if it's something I can help with, I'll tell you how much it'll cost you."
ZanKyu wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2020 9:16 pm"More precisely I would like to know who takes the bird out of the cage for a flight and how they get there."
Takeo swigs some of the cheap beer as he eyeballs the image, then he nods once in comprehension. "Lihua Kovačić. Head of AMR. Yeah, I know she's scheduled to leave the arcology at 0600 this Sunday. And I also know who's going to be driving her." He smiles. "This might work out for both of us, John. Truth is there's something I was hoping you could do for me. You remember my half-sister, Mischa? The one from dad's third marriage? Last time I was visiting my mother, she tells me that Mischa has shacked up with some Horizoon brat, real piece of shit. Her mother tells me he's treating her bad, roughing her up and keeping her from seeing her family. Now Mischa's a grown woman, so it's not for me to tell her how to live, but... I just want you to do what you do and see if there's any truth to these rumours. You speak to Mischa, let me know how she's doing, and I'll give you the name of Lihua Kovačić's driver. I'll even pass on any messages you have to them. What do you say?"

Before John has a chance to answer, A.L.I.C.E grabs his attention and strongly advises him not to take any action against Horizoonsoft at this moment. She believes it's still too soon since John's disappearance from the corporation.
John's Filial directive comes into play here. Will he abandon his lead and mark xp, or ignore A.L.I.C.E's warnings?

The linescrubber comes on. Very good.

She speaks calmly and decisively. "My client needs one Lihua Kovačić extracted from the facility. This apartment belongs to their client, who presumably has some sort of axe to grind with Fujimoto. As we both know, large companies like Fujimoto are filled with legal loose ends. I would like you to pull on one of these ends, allow us an excuse to enter Geongseong - as tax officials, security inspectors, whatever you can drum up. Synthmeat like mine doesn't understand the contents of this room, but my guess is that they are filled with loose ends, which I may deliver to you or you to them. "

"So," Fool turns to Shelley as she drives their way to the apartment. "What do ya think the client wants with her?"

Darkness.

He couldn't see anything. He could only hear the wheezing noise coming from his broken nose. The taste of iron in his mouth from the blood. The pain.

He was left to die, beaten to unconsciousness by a bunch of goons. There was a rat in the company and they were the exterminators. There was zero tolerance on traitors and exposing any misdeeds of higher ups meant to rest forever in a back alley somewhere. He always knew it would end up like this so why...?

"John?"

It was a voice of an angel. A sweet, soft, female whisper, close to that of a lover or a mother.

"Can you hear me John?"

The voice repeated a name. The name wasn't his but it felt familiar. He had used a lot of names in the past when he was in the Matrix, John was definitely one of those. He tried to respond but almost choked in his own blood.

"Don't try to speak. I have already summoned an autopilot ambulance. I will take you somewhere safe. Stay with me John."

He put all his strength into opening the eyelid of his swollen eyes. From the slit he could see her figure.

Light.
John finished his beer in a go and stood up. "Always thankful. We will speak again." He left Takeo alone in the bar and headed for the apartment. "Sunday at 0600" he mumbled to himself. It wasn't enough but it would do for now. As much as he hated to turn Takeo down, A.L.I.C.E. was right, it was too soon. One day he will go back and also help Takeo. But not today.

John receives a message after he leaves the bar.
nekolover@alwayscaturday.nk.com wrote:Favours need to go both ways, John. Failing to understand that has always been your problem. Don't talk to me again until you understand how things work.
If The Rat ever wanted Takeo's help on anything again, he'd need to make this up to the man first.

Meanwhile, across town at the apartment, Volkov just shakes his head.
"Yeah OK, I get what you want to do, but that just isn't happening. Geongseong's tighter than a пизда монахини. Непроницаемый. Anything I drew up on this short notice would get shot to pieces before you even made it through the gates. I'd need a week just to get you past the first checkpoint." He takes another pull on his cigar. "You want my advice? Forget it. You still want me to throw something together? I'll do it for the usual price. But trust me kid, there are faster ways to see the inside of a Fujimoto holding facility." Unless you keep him, Mikhail ends the call, noting with a grin that he won't even charge you for this consultation.

What do you do?
John's interaction with FHI's drivers has raised some extra suspicion within the arcology; the Legwork Clock has advanced to 21:00, which in turn has advanced the Action Clock to 13:00.

"I understand. Thank you for your time." Click.

That's the subtle option gone. There's always the bloodier option. She grins to herself.

Salome changes tacks and examines the gear in the apartment to see if something interesting pops up: keycards, fake or real employee IDs, Geongseong floormaps, the like. For that matter, maybe something on the nature of this client.

Shelley shook herself awake from her day-dreaming. "Remind me to not eat 2 whole Burritozillas while on the job..." She cautiously set-up a sandbox environment to hook the card into while reminiscing about how she used to be more cavalier about mounting strange cards, before that one time it straight up shorted one of her good ports.
"Alright, we definitely can draw up an interception route with this. Regularly scheduled automated company car, standing tickets, but look at this Fu-" she slided the relevant calendar patterns into one of the menu displays, briefly flickering the colorful animated skulls on the other screens. "It's all for doctor visits, practically right straight out of the runway directly into a specialist on Holistic Oncology? Now who would need to go outside Rason for this? And why is it sponsored by the corp itself, I know their plans they're not THAT good." Her fingers twitched nervously. "This stinks, and it isn't your horchata for once..."
Research roll to get the [intel] [2d6+1] = 7+1 = 8
She looked at Fool's confused face. "Don't know if I should keep digging, we already got what we needed which was a good interception route. I'll let the others know." She beamed the intel into the rest of the team and waited for confirmation. She hated going loud, but getting the data had not been exactly as smooth and covert as she had planned initially, but it would be better than going in guns blazing.
The reason has been revealed, but it's probably a cover for insurance. Could delve further, but she's not THAT curious unless the team is. Which speaking of, I have Revealed Knowledge to discover the route for the personal shuttle she takes regularly, alongside with possible defenses and other model details.

Kovačić's security team is four strong, cybered with a mix of sensory and combat 'ware, and equipped with armoured vests and heavy pistols. The armoured limousine also has a combat shotgun and an assault rifle stocked in the back in case of any trouble en route. If they're expecting a lot of trouble, the team is beefed up to 6 or more and their equipment traded for military armour and assault rifles, but thus far the team hasn't made enough noise for them to go that far. Yet. Shelley also discovers that it's standard practice for Fujimoto to send two identical limos in a small convoy, with the VIP's security detail split between the two cars.

Shelley's message crackles in on the comm. No need, then, for an assault on HQ.

"Need to set up a blockade. A car crash?" she ponders out loud on the comm. "A lengthy traffic light on a busy street may do it."

The two cars would be a problem. Splitting up firepower.

"Hooh~ That sounds like a sweet gig, though. Imagine what you rake in doing alternative medicine for the big wigs." Fool clicks her tongue as Seoul con Carne! weaves through traffic. "Bet those docs don't have to wake up at too-early-in-the-fraggin' AM for food prep." Finally she parks the truck a few blocks down the street from the apartment before knocking the door. "Yo~ Rat here yet?"

John arrived as soon as Fool reached the door. "Hey. I see the whole gang is here. I assume everyone got some sort of intel then?" He took a close look at the gear located in the apartment. "Unfortunately I didn't manage to get much info, but I'm sure if we put everything together we might come up with a proper plan."

John knows exactly where to find a Fujimoto limo driver; he just finished upsetting one of them less than an hour ago. If he doesn't want to speak with Takeo, A.L.I.C.E provides him with a list of public employment records for FHI filtered by 'Driver, Chauffeur' (87 hits), all of whom are listed as Geongseong tax residents. It seems you'll have to ask around inside the arcology...
It All Fits Together! lets you ask a question for free, no need to roll. I'll take your 8 though because that nets you an extra [Intel], so you still have 3 uses of IAFT! to spend.

John looks at the 87 names on the list and sighs. "I thought we would be done by now..." He turns to the gang. "Sorry everyone... I'm gonna need to do one last thing first." Heading for the door he stops before heading out and looks at Fool. "...It appears that my ride had some technical issues. You wouldn't know how to get to arcology, would you?"

Next to an excited Fool, with sick beats coming out of the food truck, John grumpily checks the list of names again and again trying to come up with a plan.
"Alice, where would I find the most people on this list inside the arcology?"
Spending 1 hold for the question!
After A.L.I.C.E.'s input he's going to pay a visit on the arcology and put an Ear to the ground to figure out who is related to the limo trip.

John and Fool slide conspicuously into the Geongseong Facility's outer complex, neo-Mariachi soundtrack playing at just above a respectable volume and several florescent skulls pulsing in random sequence. A.L.I.C.E spends most of the journey consulting public FHI database's in an attempt to ascertain where the best place to begin hunting Fujimoto drivers would be, but without more restricted information to go on it comes down to the Rat's gut feeling as to where to start. The pair ultimately find themselves in the entertainment plaza closest to the largest on-site residential zone, and after a few drink bought for the right people and some amicable bantering, John and Fool stumble into the presence of Kim Joo-young, one of the office staff in the Personal Transportation Department.

"And who might you be?" The short, stocky man seems annoyed and slightly suspicious that you've interrupted his downtime and brought up his work. He gestures to a pair of uniformed Fujimoto security guards passing, daring you to make him alert them. "This better be good."

What do you do?

"Hey, hey, why the grumpy face? We're just doing our job here." Fool pulls up a little tablet, the ghostly light reflecting off her face. "We got an order for, uhh," Fool taps the pad, skimming from John's list. "Kang-dae Park. Twenty orders of churro-hotteoks! Seems someone likes to party. Trust me, we don't wanna be here for real long. We'll just have this delivered to a break room and ping Park and then we'll be outta your hair, promise."

Here goes nothing! Gonna try to fast talk the guard to let us sniff around!

The man sighs, scowling. "That moron's not even on today!" Kim angrily taps away at his comm, then taps it against your own with a pleasant beep. "There, you have authorisation to enter the offices. Lowest level access though, and for 30 minutes only; in and out, right? If you fuck around it'll be me getting chewed out, and you... well, you won't be bothering anyone with that van of yours for a good long while, understand? Now get out of here, I get one night a week where I don't have to deal with this crap." He turns back to his drink, and you feel it wise to leave him be.

Now that you have permission to visit the driver's offices, you manage to make it past the first security layer of the Fujimoto arcology, the heavily armed guards and myriad security cameras that watch your every step making it easy to see how the Geongseong Facility earned its nickname 'the Fortress'. Not wishing to be here once you authorisation times out, you hurry to the Personal Transportation Department and enter a severe lounge where several on-call drivers are stationed alongside several office staff, whose attention is cornered by the delicious greasy food you arrive with...

What do you do?
You're in, but your brazen infiltration had advanced the Legwork clock to 22:00!

Fool glances around the premises, noting the security, and holding two oily bagfuls of steamy, foil-wrapped sugary goodness. She gives a whisper to John. "Huh. Didn't think we'd get this far."

John nods. "This will do. You do your thing and I will ask around to see if I can figure out who are the drivers that are related on Sunday 0600 delivery."
Ear to the ground on the group of drivers.
