Jasmine

Jasmine is the last to arrive for breakfast. She doesn't say much but looks around for Barlow and if he is there she would attempt to approach him.

Barlow is nowhere to be found, but Jasmine finds her companions readily enough. After hearing how far news of your escapades has traveled, you wisely decide to slip out a back door that leads you to the stables.

Kazak notes your passing and sends a pensive look after you, but says nothing and makes no attempt to stop you. The door closes and you are alone save for a pair of stablehands brushing mounts, filling feed bags, and shoveling feces into buckets.

Anyone who kept track of your HP during our last endeavor, post it with your next action. I'll just keep a running log in our IC posts, to avoid having to go back and reread threads if anyone forgets to track it. If you don't recall your hp, I'll pick a number that sounds good.

Alec

The covered one with the high side boards. Should be a barrel and a locked chest inside. We will have to find somewhere to fill the water but no trouble. I will distract the stable hands with getting the 2 draft horses hooked up and ready to leave. Try to file one at a time to the back of the wagon. And keep quiet.

Alec shoulders his gear and saddle bags and walks out to the front of the wagon and tosses his gear in the drivers seat and walks in to the stable boy feeding the horses.

I need my horses hooked up and readied to depart.

Gil, barbarian skald, 36/39 HP

"Jasmine my bruised friend
Barlow left us yesterday
For temple life to pray
Meet Alec, a cleric fey."

Gil follows Alec out to the stable. Thinking city guards may search inside wagons at the city gate, he looks under the wagon to see if there is a way to secure oneself underneath by the axles, floor crossbeams or by making loop holes by iron spike.

[sheet]Shylock Cravat[/sheet]

Follows the group. He seems to have attached himself to them without consent or dispute. At least leaving the city allows interest in his personage to cool.

He has a selection of kit, weapons and equipment which he loads upon the wagon. He has no mount of his own so rides alongside the wagon driver rather than walk.

"So. Where are we going again? Ambush some bushwhackers. No problem."

The wagon is loaded and team hitched without incident. The stablehands seem bored and unconcerned. They perform their duty effectively and show no special interest in the comings and goings of Kazak's patrons.

Gil finds no ready means of concealment beneath the wagon but does believe he could loop short lengths of rope through narrowly-spaced holes and hang beneath, in a pinch. If only he had some means of drilling through the heavy planks.

Shylock opts to ride beside Alec once all is ready to go. Jasmine maintains her uncharacteristic silence. Noise from the streets filters in through the closed doors, the murmur of conversation and the rattle of arms as a squad of the king's guard passes.

It promises to be an interesting trek through the streets in broad daylight with three of the party sought by the law.

Gil - 36/39
Jasmine - 30/55
Corthalis - 10/10
Alec - 22/22
Shylock 23/23

Shylock Cravat

23/23hp 10hp to 55hp?

I could always hide in the barrel of apples.
The halfling is more easily concealable among the crates and barrel stored on the wagon. "So is the plan to ambush these raiders before they pillage a caravan or just after. When they have a few extra spoils?" he asks mischievously.

Alec

22/22 Never involved in the fight.

Make sure you fellas check all the harness and tack. I just bought mine yesterday and it was all new. None of that dry rotted crap over there on the wall. Mine was freshly oiled and in pristine shape. Got a long haul don't need any broken tack.

Alec looks around for any old horse blankets or tarps in the stable. Looking for something to cover up the fugitives.

What is the closest leatherworker around here? Need to pick up a few things before we leave town.

Gil, barbarian skald

Gil checks over his own horse, Mount, before tying him up to the wagon. He looks around the stable to see if there are any tools, perhaps spikes or horseshoe hammer to drive in a dagger to make holes in the wagon floor.

If not, Gil gets under any cover inside the wagon.

The barbarian answers Jasmine:
“Who knows where temple lies?
I’ve only been to market for supplies.”

Inside the wagon, Gil recounts to Shylock ideas about handling the bandits who have been raiding Kazak’s caravan.

Gil finishes his tankard of ale and orders another.

“Now, this job... I am but a simple warrior, with simple ideas and a sword. I welcome your thoughts. Some tactics came to mind. We will be out-numbered, so we must fight smart. We ride ahead and meet the caravan, gaining their cooperation to lay a trap. When we reach a likely spot for banditry, we pull off into the sands and fake an axle break. We lay large nets under the sands in front and back, with the warrior’s horses at two corners. When the bandits arrive we wave a white flag. When they approach over the nets, we gallop and entangle them and their horses. Then strike them down safely.”

“The wizards can be in the caravan, ready to... do what they do. As long as it doesn’t involve human sacrifices or the summoning of demons, which I hear is what they do. No offense.”

Alec

In the morning after the reunion.

Jasmine I can heal you. Just sit still and close your eyes.

[1d8] = 4 Cure light Wounds

[1d8] = 4 Cure light Wounds

[1d8] = 8 Cure light Wounds

That should do it. from now on if you get injured and you let me know I can heal some of it right away with bandages and cleaning it. Then save spells for later. This allows for more healing. And it is OK, Keep your money. We may need more provisions before leaving town and I have no more money.

Corthalis Aelvynwynne looks at the motley group around the wagon. "Well, i daresay this should prove an interesting adventure. Seems the wagonmaster and i are the only unwanted faces. As we approach the gate i may be able to influence a guard, or put some to sleep so we can slip through. That's risky, depending on how many there are, especially any above on the wall."

Freshly-healed and ready to roll, the party looks to their wagon and readies for departure. Gil finds himself a farrier's hammer and attempts to drive his dagger into the planks at the bottom of the wagon, but the old oak is dry and hard. It does little more than splinter.

You find some old blankets piled in a corner. They smell strongly of horse; the stablehands shrug when you reach for them. They return to their conversation and proceed to ignore you.

You have your wagon, you have your concealment--smelly as it is--and you're ready to depart.

Actions?

Gil - 36/39
Jasmine - 51/55
Corthalis - 10/10
Alec - 22/22
Shylock 23/23

Just so everyone knows how this works, I treat the city like a dungeon and make a wandering monster check every round. Your chance of a hostile encounter is increased by one in six because of last night's happenings and the alertness of the king's guard. So each round spent on the street will be riskier than normal.

You can refer back to the post detailing the names and locations of the leatherworkers if it'll help you decide on your next stop. As you are still new to the city and have no firm ideas of distance or the time taken to cover it, any directions you can recall will be vague and general.
