Wade gets his bearings and moves towards the strange talen some 75 yards away and tries to recon the source if he sees the person it's coming from he will attack but only if it is a enemy.

Dutch
Van Horn could "see" the Blast Fist Talent with his Enhanced Hearing- as clearly as if he were looking at him across a sunlit field. He cleared his mind, exhaled, and squeezed off two rounds at Blast Fist. Just another day at the range, Dutch.. he thought to himself.

If there's anything better than the smell of terror, it's the smell of a terrified power. That's the sort of thing 'Medicore 'Fred' Roker might ponder in one of the more boring moments manning the radio. Wolfman Roker, on the other hand, tends to engage in somewhat more direct thought processes. So instead of penning a short monograph on fear, endorphins, and lycanthropic urges, he leaps at the fist-blaster in a fury of fur, teeth, and claws.

SSGT Acme

Marvin drops to his knee and sucks air. He studiously avoids looking at the half Marine only feet away.

"Corpsman! My guy needs some help here!" Marvin calls out to Franklin, eventually seeing that he was already on top of things. "Oh, thanks."

He reloads and scans the building with his scope.

Mutaritari Island; Approximately 5:00 AM, 17 August, 1942

A tiny atoll in the central Pacific as the sun is just beginning to rise.....a small battle, part of the war engulfing the entire world, continues.....

RM2 Fred Roker reaches his Japanese opponent, a member of the 'Special Unit 781' group of the Japanese war machine, a.k.a. their Talent troops. This particular Talent is a member of the Special Naval Landing Forces, otherwise known as the 'Japanese Marines', and he can fire blasts of energy from his closed fist. Roker is also a Talent......in his case, he can transform into a 'Werewolf', and as he reaches his opponent he slashes out at his opponent and while he doesn't connect as hard as he would've liked, it's enough to rip bloody trails in his side and throw off his aim as the wounded Japanese trooper 'fires' his energy blast, which now JUST misses Roker's dark-furred body and zips off into the sky*......

Nearby, SGT Charlie 'Dutch' Van Horn utilized his Telescopic Hearing Power to 'take aim' at that same 'Blast Fist' Japanese Talent, and he pointed his M1 Garand out, took a deep breath and as he released it, he stroked the trigger, then a second time, which also caused the distinctive 'PING' sound as the 8 round en-bloc clip was exhausted and the clip holder ejected out of the port. His first shot narrowly missed both the Japanese Talent AND Roker, but then his second shot slammed right into 'Blast Fist's' chest, causing his to fold in on himself and then collapse to the ground, shudder a few times and then stop moving. Taking a deep breath as his power allowed him to hear his opponent breath his last, Dutch pulled out another 8 round clip, inserted it into the M1's magazine and then rose to his feet with a slight hiss of pain from his wound.....

SSGT Marvin Acme ducked down after seeing his last two shots take out the Japanese Sword-wielding Talent and he pulled out another 5 round 'Alligator' Charger Clip for his Springfield Rifle, loaded it into his Springfield Rifle's magazine, pocketed the metal 'holder' part of the charger while watching 'Doc' Franklin treat Gomez and the wounded 'regular' Marine, a PFC named Halloran, and then turned back to use his weapon's Scope to scan the building in the distance where he had felt another strange Talent, though now that Talent power had stopped. Looking at the building, the first things he noticed were the antennae on the roof and smoke rising out of the small chimney, which in this climate had to be used to vent out steam from cooking, indicating something was burning inside. As he did so, a tired Carl Franklin came over to him and began patching up his wound.......

Wade MacGyver, now fully healed thanks to Corpsman Franklin's Talent Power, kept his Thompson aimed at the building where he felt the strange Talent power emanating from, though the Talent Power had been 'inactivated' and as he started to move towards the building, he heard a "Hang on a second there Marine, let me try something first" from behind him. Looking that way, he saw Navy officer Lieutenant Boyd moving forward along with another 'regular' Marine, a PVT Watkins, both of them holding rifles. Boyd whispered to them while never taking his eyes off the door to the building about 70 or so yards away. "Okay, I want you two to move carefully to either side of that door while I whistle up some clouds to cover the front of the building. Then I'll use a bolt of lightning to smash the door in and then you two can storm in, okay. Go!" The Navy Officer known as 'Rainsquall' didn't wait to hear any replies, he closed his eyes, held his hand forward and MacGyver could 'feel' his Talent power being activated. Watkins raced towards the left side of the door, staying low as he did so. A moment or so later, a 30 or so foot wide and tall gray cloud formed in front of the building.....

Gurung shaking off the cobwebs, felt his vision clear, though he STILL felt like he had been run over by a Mac Truck. His energy blade disappeared as did the scales from his body as he also felt the strange Talent power from the building 'turn off' and then the familiar Talent Power of "Rainsquall" Boyd activate.....

OOC:

*Unless you tell me otherwise, Roker's power will inactivate while the others are approaching the building. He is still wounded, but could tell by looking around that Doc Franklin is over with Acme and another 'regular' Marine.

Gurung

Gurung checks himself to make sure he is all right, then tops off his Enfield and moves to back up the assault on the building.

Dutch
Dutch presses his hand to his wound, both to help the clotting and to assess how severe it is. He moves forward at a crouch, locating his squadmates by sound. He stops after about 10 yards, again scanning the area.

'Mediocre'—currently 'Wolfman'—Fred Roker allows himself to revert back to his human form. He wipes the blood from his face and pulls a bit of stringy muscle from his teeth. After only a moment to recover his senses, he reloads his M1 and moves to rejoin the others.

SSGT Acme

Marvin waits for Doc to finish up, then thanks him and moves to provide overwatch for the incursion. "Thanks Doc. Looks like the boys are breaching that building. Stay down and keep an eye out."

Marvin tries to move laterally to where he can see two sides of the building, hopefully preventing escape out the back.

Mutaritari Island; Approximately 5:05-5:15 AM, 17 August, 1942

SSGT Acme led Doc Franklin over to SGT 'Dutch' Van Horn and RM2 Fred 'Mediocre' Roker and had the weary Corpsman take a look at their wounds* while he studied what was going on over at the building where the 'El Tee' had gathered a force. Boyd was using his Talent to whip up a storm cloud that suddenly produced a Lightning Bolt that shattered the door and some Marine Raider he didn't recognize whirled into the suddenly open doorway, followed closely by MacGyver and moving up quickly to support them was Gurung....

At the building's entrance, Wade clutched his Thompson anxiously on one side of the building, while Private Watkins did the same with his M1 Garand rifle as Boyd focused on his storm cloud and in an instant, a lightning bolt suddenly split the door into splinters with a mighty crash and Watkins quickly whirled around and dashed into the room, MacGyver just a step behind. Inside the room, a Japanese officer in an SNLF Lieutenant's uniform was tossing papers from a box of files into a fireplace that was clearly used for cooking with one hand, while with the other he pointed a Nambu pistol at the doorway. He had the 'Unit 781' armband around his right bicep and he fired two quick shots into Watkins, which hit the unfortunate Marine in the torso, causing him to slump to the ground in an unmoving pile. He then started to shift his aim towards the Marine Corporal holding a Thompson.....

Behind Boyd, Wade and Watkins, Rifleman Gurung finally shook off the cobwebs and making sure he had a round in his SMLE's chamber he rushed forward, making it to Boyd's position about 10 yards behind the door when the lightning bolt smashed open the door and the two Marines breached. He could hear a couple of shots fired from inside the building, but they were definitely not made from a Rifle or from Wade's SMG....

*Dutch and Roker's wounds have been seen too. Wade is face to face with a Japanese Officer carrying a Nambu pistol, Gurung is about 10 yards from the wide open entryway....he can get there in a round if he rushes. Acme, Dutch and Roker are about 75 yards away.

Gurung

Gurung rushes in. Activating his Armor talent as he goes (Spending enough Will to guarantee it works).

If he gets a shot at a Japanese soldier he takes it.

SSGT Acme

Marvin looks back at Roker and smiles. "Looks like they could use some help. Care to storm a building?" Acme waves everyone forward that can move. "Move to secure the back of the building or other exits."

Acme starts rushing forward to close the distance.

Dutch
While talking to the Corpsman, Dutch was very dismissive of his injury. Make sure you have plenty for the serious wounds, Doc. I got worse than this from Roscoe while I was taking him to visit the heifers. He won't actually refuse treatment.

When the ruckus starts, he grabs his weapon and heads for the barracks building. He hurries, but makes sure to zig-zag and take advantage of whatever cover he can.

He'll activate his Enhanced Hearing again to try and keep track of the activity until he gets there.

Mutaritari Island; Approximately 5:15AM, 17 August, 1942

The battle on the tiny island continued as the Talents of SST 4 fought against their opposite numbers serving the Empire of Japan....

Gurung reached down within himself, utilized his ARMOR power*, and his skin seemed to be covered in hard scales as he rushed towards the now smashed open door to the barracks and barreled in to see perhaps 4 or 5 yards away the strange sight of Wade MacGyver down on his knees with his Energy Shield shimmering in front of him and barely 5 feet away, a Japanese SNLF member with the distinctive Unit 781 armband holding a Nambu Pistol and pointing it towards the Marine......

Inside the barracks, instead of utilizing his Thompson to cut down the strange Japanese Talent that had just shot poor Watkins down with a pistol, CPL Wade MacGyver instead summoned up an Energy Shield** and interposed it between himself and the enemy, just in time to have a couple of 8mm shots be deflected/distorted enough to miss hitting him. He then dropped to the ground and awkwardly attempted to sweep his leg to trip the SNLF trooper to the ground, half-way succeeding in that he brought the man to one knee, but that man was still facing him and pointing a pistol his way. In his peripheral vision the American Marine could see and feel Rifleman Gurung bust in thru the smashed open doorway with his SMLE rifle in hand and his Armor Talent obviously activated as his skin looked covered in scales....

Outside, SSGT Acme smiled at Roker and with a yell, they moved to cut around the side of the Barracks building to see if there were any other entrances and if so, to secure them. They rounded the left side of the building and got to the rear only to see that there was in fact, no other entrances/exits they could see. As they panted for a second, in the far distance, they heard a strange rumble of machinery....and felt a new Talent Power being activated....at the limits of their senses...perhaps a couple hundred yards away....

SGT Charlie 'Dutch' Van Horn attempted to rush forward as well, calling on his Talent Power of Enhanced Hearing to try and learn what was happening that way, but he suddenly stumbled for a second and he felt like an abject failure as he could FEEL his Power for a moment and then lost it....causing him to feel weak and depressed and to almost drop his Garand out of his suddenly rubbery arms***.....

OOC: Okay, so I just want to throw out one more "Please remember to let me know if you're using Will Power Points when trying to Activate powers, as they are NOT Automatically going to work whenever you want them too" reminder!

*Rex specified spending a WP point for his Armor Power and he currently has 15 of 19 possible points. His Armor Power is active and he is about 4 or 5 yards away from the Japanese SNLF Talent and Wade.

**Wade successfully used his Shield Power (though it was a near thing as you were also making a Brawling Attack this round, which means -1D for both, so you were rolling 1D+2 to beat a 5 instead of the usual 2D+2....you rolled a 4 so it worked)...he has a full 14 of 14 possible Will Power points. The Shield is right now basically almost from floor to over your head as you are crouched down and in between you and the Japanese Talent.

***Poor Dutch failed his roll as a I rolled a 4 on your Will power roll of 2D...sorry man. You lost 3 WPs for this failure and will be at -1D for all actions for a round as you feel depressed. This leaves you with 9 of 12 possible WPs for the future.

Only Acme and Roker so far have felt the mysterious new Talent with an Active Power at the LIMIT of their detection range...somewhere beyond the scrub woods (a wide trail has been cut through the woods)....nothing can be seen though as the trail winds to the right and the LOS is blocked.

Gurung

Gurung pulls up his Enfield and fires 2 round point blank into the Japanese soldier, making sure he isn't shooting through the force field (moving if he needs to).

Dutch No prob. Things happen.

Dutch dropped to the ground. His sudden loss of energy made him wonder if he should even bother trying to protect himself. He fought this- his training in the Corps fighting his lack of motivation. He lay flat for a moment, trying to get past this. Was it some new Talent the Japanese had found?
Dutch will spend this round getting his s--t together.

Roker looks again to Acme for direction. His facial expression says, "Now what the hell?" so his voice doesn't have to.
