Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Holding for Piers and Kinnard/Myantha.
Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Kinnard, the Mercenary
Myantha Theneiros, the Witch
Kinnard remains with the caravan, or more specifically with Myantha, who has become even more reticent since her brief conversation with Fljúga some time earlier. The two exchange small talk briefly, but it is obvious that the elf is still not in a conversational mood. With nothing else to do until the others return other than keep a lookout, Kinnard looks about the caravan for someone to pass the time with.

Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Rikke's looking to get supplies...namely food...and better armor if she can get it. She's also going to be 'protecting' Olivia
Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Piers heads with the raiding party, in total agreement with the idea of what they takes not only helps their group out but also keeps it out of the hand of the raiders. He is looking for food to feed everyone and better armor.

Olivia Linderoth
Olivia speaks softly into the home at the wide-eyed woman.
I am Olivia. I am from Kaerhavn. We were attacked too and have a caravan on the road with some able-bodied fighters and other families.
You are welcome to join us!
We need all the supplies we can get to make our journey. Do you know of any stores of food or drink we could take with us?
Are there any taverns or inns nearby?
Personality [2d6+1] = 11+1 = 12

As Olivia is speaking to the person in the house, Piers keeps an eye out for any wandering patrols.

Characters:
Raid:
Piers keeps watch upon the main road, eyes trained on the inward street where the sounds of screams and clashing steel is heard intermittantly in distance. At the intersection ahead, he can indeed see a building with its door kicked open and a painted sign still hanging from one corner:
There is some kind of scuffling commotion that he can hear in the side street, to the left of the intersection beyond the tavern door, still out of sight.

Go quickly and don’t look back until you reach the caravan, Olivia says. The words hang in the air as the last of the family leaves to ford the stream.
Olivia looks to Piers.
What are you thinking our best course of action is?
These houses with the doors kicked in - do you think they may have some provisions abandoned in their larders?
What of the inn?

Piers shakes his head. "I don't know but I think the Inn will provide the best opportunity."

Directed to Hild, Saral, and Rikke, what do you think...quickly to the inn?
Olivia begins heading in that direction along the edge of the house, she peers around the corner of the building to the street, leans her left ear out listening for sounds of movement nearby.

Rikke, human bandit
"Yes, to the inn. But hold on." The girl pulls her doll from her sack and stares at it for a couple of seconds. "Yes, Dukke, yes. I will." She stows the doll back in the sack and looks at the others.
"Inns usually have back entrances. I snuck in them to steal food sometimes before I was a warrior. We'll find food quicker and might surprise the red robes if we go in that way. I can even go look first if you want."
In case it's needed, adding an agility check for sneaking...assuming she has experience with his as an orphan so rolling d20

Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Hild and Saral both ready their weapons, and follow the lead towards the back entrance of the inn.
Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Sorry for the short post - want to give you opportunity for more action before the weekend...
Rikke quietly leads the way through the back wash yards and gardens to the rear of the inn. Peering through the window, it appears dark and quiet inside.
On the street just beyond, however, a wounded man limps by, urging three small children with him. A woman armed with a spear guards their retreat as an entire pack of kobolds harries her, cackling gleefully. You see them rush past the narrow alley entrance - you have cover from the small stables at the rear of the inn and are unseen. The conflict is heading into the intersection at the front of the inn...

Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Unable to stand the brazen acts of the kobolds, Piers steps out and swings his warhammer at the nearest kobold trying to knock it into the next nearest kobold. Mighty Deed
Initiative: [1d20] = 6
Attack: [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12+[1d3] = 3 = 15. Mighty Deed succeeds if the attack succeeds.
Damage: [1d8+1] = 7+1 = 8+3 = 11
Initiative: [1d20] = 6

Re: Chapter 2a - The Exodus to Krossavik
Rikke, bandit
Rikke finds herself unexpectedly enraged at the kobolds harrassing the injured man with his children. Any hesitance she has at engaging the kobolds evaporates as she sees Piers join the fray. She advances with him, keeping her back to his just like Kinnard taught her to maintain a defensive position. She swings her claymore, giving it its first taste of battle.
Deed in bold
Initiative [1d16] = 13, claymore attack [1d20+1] = 14+1 = 15, damage [1d10+1] = 4+1 = 5, deed die [1d3] = 2
Just realized luck modifier (+1 more) should apply to her attack roll. I'll update on future rolls.
So, attack roll total is 18 and damage 7 if I did this right.

Olivia will check the back door of the inn to see if she can get in or force it open.
reminder to Hild that you are blessed for your next attack roll
