Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
Thank you!
I duplicated a copy in the Casketlands (Region Map) thread for ease of use.
I wanted to get something in front of everyone to keep things moving forward and will probably keep tinkering with it, find some better fonts for labeling, etc...

Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
I would like to give everyone a heads up that I am still trying to recruit people to the game and we may get some new players soon.
I also want to say that I am really enjoying running this game and excited to see what direction you take things with your characters!

Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
I don't know anything about horses - is this a hilarious thing that they do?
Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
I don't know if they all do it, but the one I rode a few times as a kid did. The owner would have to stand on one leg to tighten the cinch belt, like Brimston did. Pretty tricky, because he'd have one knee up in the horse's belly, while at the same time leaning down to tighten the buckle under the belly. If I remember correctly.

Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
They have a lot of personality and that includes being rather mischievous if they want to.
Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
Very true. And you don't just jump on and ride them like a motorcycle, like they do in the movies. Those must be intensively-trained "actor" horses picked for a certain disposition. With a regular horse, you're riding a smart animal with a mind and will of its own.

Re: The Saloon (OOC Thread)
You can say that again. I used to help my uncle at his place during the summer along with spring and fall breaks. He broke horses for a side job. I thought I was getting to ride a horse all the time, but they got greener and greener until the day he put me on one we barely got a saddle on and said good luck. Looking back I can see he was having me help him out but at the time I thought he had lost his mind towards the end. But I was probably the biggest person they would ever carry so it made quicker work of tiring them out. We both laugh about it now. I'll still never forget the day one of them bit me though. It was a young Bay Mustang (a real one!) named Tigger because he liked to jump straight up in the air with you. I was putting the reigns over the corral post and that horse tilted its head, and before I knew what he was doing, he bit a hunk right out of my armpit. Took about 2 months to heal and more antiseptic than I care to remember. I hated that horse!
