Are there any limitations to the choice(s) I make?

If you are talking about spell selection I think you will need to roll for each spell as you choose it based on your Int. If you fail you can't have that spell. Once you get to your max you are done. At least I think that is how it is usually done. I almost never run a magic-user so just about anyone else may know better than me.

Thanks for the accept. Raised on the Red Box here (note icon) and never did do Holmes. Big fan of the good ol RC (I own five copies, you just never know). I am wondering if the party has a need for any particular class that I could fill in?

If not I am thinking another dwarf fighter?

Plus, what is our Campaign id?

Bear with me, guys. I've not vanished. Summer is just very hectic, so my updates might be slow in coming.

Today ended up much busier than I expected.

And the campaign id is 850, I believe. If that's wrong, it should be listed in the character gen thread. My brain is too fried to check.

I think my dwarf is done. Wunyo of the Hornbrewer clan. If any of the party need Ale recommendations, his family has been in the business for millennia.

I just want to make sure, we are all still at the Inn no?

(I wonder how many times that's been asked at a tabletop!)

No, we're huddled outside the inn, about to depart for the ruins.

That was a killer intro post, by the way. I'll get us an update posted tonight or tomorrow

That works. :lorcl: I'm pretty loose on that sort of thing.

This is a good-sized group! What is it now, eight? Big groups are the most fun to me, with plenty of chatter between players.

Just as I headed out to work a bit ago, rain began pouring down (huzzah for the dog days of summer!) and I got a reprieve, so I went ahead and updated our thread.

If ever I leave one of you behind and don't realize, as I'm a scatterbrained DM, just pipe up and we'll retcon or fiddle as needed.

Yeah nice relaxed, stress free posting. I like it. I had forgotten how easy it was to make a character in the old D&D.

Enjoy teasing Igber all you want, but don't think for a moment that your rations are foil wrapped MREs.

If you don't want to live on 100% dried plants in some form, then you are looking at getting protein from:
  • Beef Jerky
  • Smoked Fish
  • Salted Cod
  • Hard Cheese
... all of which smell!

There is no canning, no freezing, no refrigeration and "pickling" would create jars too heavy to carry in a backpack.

It sounds about right. As someone who spends much of the fall each year in the woods and can't eat high carb food that is basically what I eat much of the time. The funny part is I will often eat 3000+ calories a day for 4 or 5 days straight and my weight will be level, + or - a pound.

Please god, no MREs. Would rather have Johnny Cake, Weevils, Carbs, and all.

Vince, who has eaten way too many MREs over his career. (and actually liked the entrees in several of the late 80's early 90's ones) And likes to be able to poop.

Veteran of Hurricane Katrina. MRE are well, not fit for trolls!

My brother walked the Appalachian Trail and said that calories is exactly the problem ... it is almost impossible to carry enough calories to replace the ones you are burning, so you want the highest calorie food you can carry.
