Hey everyone,
After reading today's DM post, please read this...
Holy shit. First 6 PCs fail a Save vs Poison, the easiest save to make.
Then Dahinna defies all odds by single handedly defeating a wight. She had one level and 1 hp left when she killed it with exactly the damage she needed to do so. Had she failed to hit with the torch and the sword, or if she lost initiative again, she'd be dead.
Folks: I'm a regular on the Goodreads.com site. They do giveaways of pre-release books for people to read and review- I assume this is to start some buzz about the book, and to get some random quotes for the book cover.
I just got a copy of How to Defend your Lair, by Keith Ammann (who also wrote The Monsters Know What They're Doing). It's a guide to planning encounters with logic, so that your monsters and NPC's aren't just swordfodder that the PCs can mow down like weeds.
I'll post my thoughts on the book when I've finished it.
I'm not against going west. What I meant to say is that I'd like to explore this area up here before descending below (I don't think we're ready for that). That passageway to the east which I needed to jump across to is intriguing. There's bound to be something interesting up that way.
If we are low on light sources, we should go to the surface and try to fashion some torches.
