Elvis looks at his watch and sees only a few hours have passed since last he checked. It's now 4:07 and the sun is still high.
The comet hasn't gotten any larger at all and you wonder if it's falling at all.
However, one of the pieces is streaking through the sky in a westward direction and is falling fairly quickly. If it maintains it's current rate it will likely strike the ground less than a fifty miles from you.
The other shards are spinning in different directions

"An odd 'comet,' that."

Unless Zengar suggests otherwise, Elvis continues on toward the nearest "splinter."

the nearest splinter is shooting toward the west, not north toward the park.

In that case Elvis will wait for Zengar to weigh in, since it's his vision we're chasing.

Zengar views the scattering pieces of the comet with a look of horror on his face, "The power of the comet is weakening, we may be too late for I sense the forces of darkness are near...Let us move, quickly!" Zengar will continue north with Elvis in a hurry.

Heading north, the two cross the parking lot and come to the entrance to the park itself. The old booths are in pretty good shape although they have been vandalized. Heavy overgrowth chokes the massive steel structures that used to be roller coasters and other types of rides. A massive ferriswheel looms hundreds of feet above you. There are weed cracked walk ways branching off in all directions. All is quiet. You notice there aren't any skeletons either. Perhaps the park was closed when the retaining event occurred...

I need to recant a little bit.

As you approach the ticket booths you can see the gates are closed and tarps cover their surface blocking view into the park. Though you can see the roller coasters and rides towering over the fence.

"Well, Zengar, what do you think? Do we try to get in, or find a way around?"

"These structures baffle my mind and make me feel uncomfortable... but I can't escape my curiosity. Let us take a quick inspection inside this place. If the going gets rough, we shall flee with our lives. Agreed?"

"Agreed!"

As you approach the gates you can see they are locked with a series of poorly attached pieces of cable and weak padlock. Pulling away a small piece of tarp reveals a large walkway with a long emptied fountain and what appears to be corpses of people staged to appear standing around the fountain and walkways.
your tokens are south side of gates

Elvis takes in the scene. "Did someone set up a corpse diorama? Yikes."

He sends a mental message to Zengar: Quell your thoughts for a moment, if you would. I want to "listen" for the thoughts of anyone around who might be planning another ambush.

You can sense no other sentient thoughts BUT can feel the mental energy of what Seems like dozens of animals. Very primitive and weak with no language. More like iinstincts.

Elvis relays what he senses to Zengar. "I don't know what to make of this tableau, but I'm sensing dozens of animal intelligences nearby. Whether they are friendly or not, I cannot tell."

Does it seem possible to break the lock or the cable without tools? I'm not eager to dull my blade by using it as a crowbar.

"Let's hope these creatures are the latter, then. Come on, we can't give up on Her just because of some old structures." Zengar unsheathes Ragnez and moves cautiously forward, signalling Elvis to follow along.

The lock is small and weak, as is the cable it secures.

If Elvis can break either the lock or the cable with his bare hands (or with a stick or anything else that's nearby), he'll do so and open the gate.

Edit: Bare hands, not bear hands. Unless Elvis got a sudden new mutation.

Gripping the lock and cable causes a feint tinkling to be heard. Following the slight sound with your eyes, you see small bells attached to the cable in several places.
It is evident that striking the lock or yanking at the cable would have made quite a racket with many bells ringing out alarm.

Elvis carefully lets go of the lock and cable when he hears the tinkling. Seems this place is not entirely unattended, he thinks to Zengar, not speaking aloud in case anyone might be listening. I suggest we look for alternate entrances—you search the fence west for, say, 500 meters, I'll search east for 500 meters, and we'll meet back here?

no fun. You were totally SUPPOSED to hack at the lock! :D
