Hi ybn,
Should we read that as "one on each side of the stream?"

Normally I don't ask for clarification on typos, but our lives might depend on this one! :D

Thanks for catching that. Yes I meant one on each side of the stream. I'll edit the original post.

Hi ybn,

Are the plant tendrils long enough that we can safely fire missile weapons into this melee, or is there a chance we'll hit the druid?
Thanks.

There is a chance you will hit the druid. It wasn't the tendrils that extended, it was the stalk that connects the bulb with tendrils to the ceiling. Think of a paddle-ball. The paddle is the ceiling of the cavern and the ball is the bulb with tendrils. The rubber band is the stalk that connects the bulb and ceiling. That is the part that expanded out and allowed the tendrils to grab a-hold of the druid.

Ritbert the Bold

That plant has got to have sack to attack a druid. We'll have him cut free in no time, boasts the dwarf as he moves in to attack with trident the plant, which has captured the druid.

To hit: [1d20] = 10

Point of order: can Palgravadorix defend himself against a plant attack without violating druidic code?

I've known DMs to go either way on this one.

I play it that a Druid can defend himself. He can not initiate an attack but there is nothing wrong with defending yourself.

Hi everyone,

I'm taking a brief break from these boards. Everything is okay. I just have an opportunity to go camping and hiking for the next two months. I've never been able to take that much time off at once before. But unfortunately, I'll be away from a keyboard.

Sorry for the short notice. It all came together at the last minute.

I realize that two months is a long time to NPC a character, ybn. Sorry. Please feel free to do whatever you have to: kill him off, get a replacement player, have him paralyzed by a plant monster, whatever. I completely understand.

Have a great two months, everyone. See you on the other side.

Are we still trying to make this game work?

Everything ok, ybn?

Ritbert the Bold is still here. I can have the dwarf shoot two more arrows, but he's not a good shot... :)

I'm still here and everything is as good as it can be. I posted the last post in the game thread but never heard back from anyone.

Since torches can be extinguished and re-used later, I was waiting for better suggestions than Yulia's extremely wacky idea. :D

But it would be fun to see how her idea works out, or doesn't.

Osford is still here and I'm hoping the game will work. This is my first PBP game so I'm not sure if this is the normal pace of things. I've been hesitant to post a lot since I'm still in learning mode, but maybe that's counter productive.

I'm still here and checking in every 1-2 days. Work has ramped up of late and I'm gearing up for a grueling 6 month online course but I'm pretty sure I can fit this game in. It's a welcome distraction.

Well, I'm glad I asked.

Now I can't remember. Did we check around the walls of the cavern (2) on the other side of the stream?

I would hate to miss a chance at finding some extra arrows. :D

The stream looks narrow enough to jump over, yes?

Kelsey, you might have to light another torch...

ybn1197, Take as much time as you need; just like the other game thread.

I want to thank everyone for their patience with my (lack of) posting. My father has completed his radiation treatment for prostrate cancer successfully however another tumor was found in his spine just below his brain stem. The tumor was removed successfully however he suffered a minor stroke as a part of the operation. He has good days and bad days as he currently goes through rehabilitation. His therapy is going to last at least 5 and a half weeks, maybe more. Given his condition and the effects of this on my family, I am going to have to discontinue my games for the time. I'm sorry to all but I have to put my family first. I look forward to gaming with you all again in a future game.
