Glimble fires a round into the head from perhaps only 20 feet away, the echoes of the gun blast can be heard resounding through the dungeon.
It explodes into a rain of brains, blood, and bits of bone, the largest piece of it sailing backward and landing perhaps five feet behind the torso.
It stops moving, but the leg keeps twisting in air through its macabre dance.

"Unbelievable" says Thorax stunned. "What could possibly do that?"

Ganon:
"Well that's easy to answer. It's to scare people off." Ganon says very loudly.
"Is it just me or do you hear that ringing as well?"

Glimble takes some cotton out of his ears "Eh what was that you asked Ganon?"

Tella - Elf Mage
Aye, let's just get by it... she whispers as she moves up with others. She will stay on the wall opposite from whatever it is.

Cormack, keeping his axe at the ready, takes point and approaches the body. Once he is close enough, he will prod at the body with the head of his axe.

Ganon:
Ganon wil move up as well illuminating the area with the lantern and torch.

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
You guys move up closer to this hideous corpse, Tella staying far away from it while the dwarves move in a bit closer, not afraid of the smell
Cormack pokes at the torso with his axe and nothing happens, other than it squishes pretty easy. It is pretty ripe smelling and you don't want to know what smells are brewing in the belly.
You are able to push past the corpse, staying away from the leg that is still spinning about in mid-air, propelled by unknown force. You notice that there are some strange flowers growing out of the rocks of the wall, purple and pink petals and glistening green stems, growing right out of a rock face!!!!
Also, further down the hallway, you hear a soft scuffling noise....

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Cormack stops his simple investigation of the body and focuses on the scuffling noise. He moves a little bit further up the hall to get out of the radius of light projected by Ganon and uses his infravision to scan around.

Thorax follows Cormack pauldron to pauldron. If there is something foul here it won't be for long.

Tella also shifts her focus on the sound ahead, keeping up with the dwarves. Strong magic at work...

Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Cormack or Thorax (whoever logs in first) roll 1d10.
Re: 5- Down the Well, Undermountain, Trip 2
Cormack and Thorax attempt to push forward without light, but the rest of the group, startled by the strange corpse follow quick on their heels and there isn't time to use infravision. However, if wouldn't have mattered.
Luckily, both of the stout dwarven warriors had pulled forth their weapons in advance of stepping forth, because they run immediately and surprisingly into a wall of greenish brown tentacles. Dog sized, bug-like creatures, with horrid pale skin, dozens of insectoid legs and a mouth of long tentacles!!! are crawling along the walls, floor, and ceiling!
The first group of them moves in, striking into your party with speed and efficiency:
Cormack - struck by 3 tentacles (roll 3 saving throws vs. paralyzation)
Thorax - struck by 5 tentacles (roll 5 saves)
*End round 0 - surprise attack, Tella and Ganon, if you don't immediately turn and run, you will be in melee with more of these bugs in round 1. Also, the first person to describe actions, please roll initiative 1d10*
