From the front of the building, only part that looks damaged enough to provide an alternate entry point is the fallen tower on the right hand side. It looks like it would be possible to climb the rubble that is piled up at the base of the building and gain entry there if you wish to go that way instead of through the front door.

Raizenbrayne, Who Is Unforeseen
While the other two are scouting out the front entrance, Raizenbrayne will pull out his dagger and set his pole off to the side, so that he can more easily climb the pile of rubble. After all, it's not like he'd hurt himself climbing the rocks, and he hopes to get a good view of the interior from that vantage point.

Well guys, should Harlan check door now? Or help Raizenbrayne examine the rubble?

Let me know--I've got a post in progress based on doing both at once but if Harlan is second-guessing after seeing Raizenbrayne traipse off across the courtyard alone that would help to know :)

Harlan would certainly prefer to work together, and if Raizenbrayne splits from the group, Harlan would probably try to catch up with him and lend a hand.

Oy! 'Brayne! Hold up! Lemme give you a hand! Agrom, you coming with?

If both of them decide to go rock climbing instead of checking the front door, Agrom will follow.

Raizenbrayne will be engaged in a Dungeoneering Test vs. Obstacle 2 (3 if the Lighting continues to be Dim, since only Harlan has a light source currently) to successfully climb the rubble and gain entrance to the southeast tower's interior. Because he lacks the Dungeoneering skill, we'll do Beginner's Luck using his Health score (3) and halve (rounding up) the final dice pool including help, traits, wises, etc.

The suggested Help skills for Dungeoneering are Criminal, Laborer, Scout and Survivalist. Any of these is applicable provided effective narration of how your character is providing help (with flavor appropriate to that skill or Wise).

Who wants to help and how?

Please note that Raizenbrayne's Belief "I cannot be harmed" is clearly responsible for him taking this Beginner's Luck Dungeoneering test and the likely calamitous results.

Agrom the Warrior

As a Survivalist, Agrom knows that falling off of rocks when in the wilderness can easily lead to your doom (or at least losing limbs*), especially if you're alone. He will encourage Raiz to go slowly, pointing out potential weak spots where the rocks could collapse, and guiding him toward more solid footholds.

OK, so far it looks like 3 for Raizenbrayne's Health, +1D for Fresh, +1D for Agrom's Survivalist, makes 5D. Halved, that would be 3D vs Obstacle 3 (2 Base, +1 Ob for working in Dim Lighting). Even if Harlan does help, the dice will still come out as 3D vs. Ob3, so it's a question of sharing in any Conditions that result from failure vs. not being seen as pitching in :) Once Harlan chimes in, feel free to make your roll Starbeard.

Harlan Wax

Harlan facepalms, realizing that this is getting to be a too many cooks in the kitchen type scenario. He steps back and offers to catch Raizenbrayne in the case that he falls.

Any loved ones I should give your regards to, you mad wizard?

OK Raizenbrayne, go ahead and make your roll! 3D vs Ob 3 unless you've got a trick up your sleeve that I've missed (like lighting a torch or something to lower the OB...cough cough)

Agrom uses Harlan's tinder box to light a torch and moves to a spot low on the rubble that will help illuminate the upward path and hopefully guarantee surer footing.

With that, everyone now has full light and the obstacle for the test drops to 2.

Before Raizenbrayne tests, can Harlan extinguish his candle? I'd like to save the three turns remaining on it if I can.

Since you've had it going I'm going to say no. You can snuff it and stow it andonly expend the one turn for now if you like though.

Raizenbrayne, Who I Unforeseen
Alright, let's how this mad wizard fares!

Raizen looks down at his companions impatiently, waving his free hand around as though he were swatting flies from his face.

'Yes, yes! Gah! Shh!! You're both going to blow off what little surprise we have left! Get back to the door, I'll cut things off this way.'

When he realises that his shooing them away isn't working, he rolls his eyes and resigns himself to being 'coached' up the rubble by his well-intentioned but obviously reckless compatriots.

I'll post an update in a bit but a quick reminder: please add blank character sheets to campaign 201 so I can track dice rolls if you would!
