Are you going to remain out, or roll up a new character? Just let me know either way.
I'm feeling up to the task, I'll try again. I'll post a new set of rolls to my personal thread for your approval. Thanks! :)

Glad to hear you're trying again. Just remember that no one likes elves. ;)

Page 44 Labyrinth Lord Rule wrote:Since labyrinth adventures occur underground, there may not be a light source, and characters will want to bring torches or lanterns. These light sources emit light in a 30' radius.
Our illustrious DM might offer his ruling here, but I'm pretty sure if your character is within the light radius of the lantern (30'), he will have no dark vision. (I believe this is commonly referred to as "Zero Dark Thirty", but I may have mixed up my terms somewhere...)

The LL rules indicate that, in any case...
Page 44 Labyrinth Lord Rules wrote:Characters who have infravision can see the heat energy that radiates off of living things. Generally, living things will be visible as tones of red, yellow, and blue, while cool items are gray and very cold objects are black. This light does not allow demi-humans to read, because fine detail is not visible. Infravision only functions in the darkness, so any visible light, whether normal or magical, will disrupt it.
So he'd have to be more than 30' ahead of the rest of the group or 30' behind the group, and not looking forward towards the light, in order to have use of his dark vision.

This.

Since the corridors are only 5' wide I'm assuming we can only walk single file. I suggest a dwarf and elf on either end, with humans in the middle carrying a covered lantern. Our characters are pretty weak right now so if we can avoid broadcasting our location I'd prefer that.

Based on Luken's last post, Mulvey would also accept being in the middle if the humans want to use a light source. He could make use of spells from there. dmw, will he be allowed to fire his bow past the first rank?

It will always be decided on a case-by-case basis, but it won't be without risk in a 5' wide passage.

Before I can update again, I'll need to know the decided upon marching order. While you've only seen 5' passages so far, I'll also need to know a 10' order as well.

Also, if the elf and/or dwarf will be scouting ahead or behind in order to stay beyond the illumination of a light source, I'll need to know that as well.

Given the possibility of a moderate death rate, can I suggest a "Present Company Includes..." thread where you just list out the names and races (not necessarily class, if that information isn't provided by the character) of the characters who currently comprise the party?

That could also display the marching order for 1x and 2x formation.

Kernodle can lead or follow. Whichever the !#$% elf is too afraid to do... :)

In the description of Luken I didn't catch how well armored he is. If he has plate Mulvey would expect him and the dwarf (who has plate IIRC) to take the ends of a single file and be in front of a 2x2 formation. If not, he'll oblige.

I created a 'Cast of Characters' thread, here: viewtopic.php?p=111221#p111221.

Once I know for sure what they are, I'll add them to the above thread.

Luken and Kernodle each don a suit of banded mail and carry shields.

Camping is not my idea of a good time (even though we went in my in-laws RV and weren't exactly "roughing" it), but my girls both loved it so it turned out better than I expected it to. :)

DM Note: There may have been some confusion. The movement Kernodle noticed was ahead of your current position, not behind you.

sorry about that. I said Kernodle would guard the rear about the time Dave posted that he saw movement ahead. I took it to mean his ahead and not the group's.

Damned dwarves, always screwing things up.

Question about the light- is it moving really really fast?

Not especially so.

I'm actually just about to post another update to set you guys up with a situation for tomorrow. ;)
