The Gam'A Zone; 344D/81 (Mid Day)

Round 2

Bruce assaults the artificial entity with two furious nunchaku barrages! (10+9=19pt. dmg) Several dents are formed, and a few sparks spit out from gaps in the metal shell.

Kurot lays into the metal being with his axe. Once again, his second swipe causes a minor slip (Fumble) requiring a recovery before the final attack splits its body! (5+9=14pt. dmg)

Max and Denslow pull their attacks and watch the robot’s appendages go slack even as Silvestri continues to hold the inanimate object in his electromagnetic grasp!

The Sentivoc appears to be devoid of energy, save the field used to immobilize the smart metal lifeform.

What about the others? asks Max, his nano-claws flexing.

The Gam'A Zone; 344D/81 (Mid Day)

Battered and released from Silvestri’s hold, the smart metal Sentivoc lies motionless and devoid of synthetic life. You thoroughly scan the horizon in the direction the other Sentivocs departed. Your efforts appear to have destroyed the artificial sentinel without it having warned the others.

Presumably, there is a structure nearby where Herdivoc units are dispatched to collect organics. No information was obtained to know how far and in what direction this collection station is located.

  • Do you attempt a data recovery from the destroyed Sentivoc?
  • Do you guess a direction and proceed to avoid or find the station?
  • Do you try and gather information with a scrying power/method?
  • Do you choose another unspecified act?

Kurot will perform an initial assessment to determine whether he thinks it would be feasible to try to collect data from the sentivoc, and if so, whether that can be performed as a field operation or if it would take sufficient time that it should be done elsewhere. If the latter, is there a memory core or other such component that could be removed from the sentivoc and analyzed later?

He also assesses whether the snetivoc contains any salvageable weapons, communications units, or...well, anything.

Kurot determines the Sentivoc’s information core can be extracted and accessed, but it will take some effort from he or Bruce. A field operation is impractical.

The smart metal’s sword appendage can be salvaged along with its articulated arm and probe rods. Other items, such as the various translucent domes and beam projector, will sell as scrap curios back at Hagalton.

Denslow will help with the non-info core part of cleanup.

The Gam'A Zone; 344D/81 (Mid Day)

Kurot and Bruce successfully remove the unit's information core and store it in a leather sack.

The efforts of others recovers the following salvage:

  • Sword appendage (1d6 dmg.)
  • (2) Pivoting "arm" assemblies
  • (3) Telescopic Rods
  • Misc. small parts useful as decorative trinkets (Gems/Jewels)

The surrounding wasteland is quiet and empty. After the disorienting purple-blue energy discharge, you are not sure where you are relative to your point of entry into the Gam'A Zone.

I say we head in the direction those menaces came in from, says Max, pointing. Seems likely that they originate from where we want to be. And if not, maybe we get more scrap to sell if we ever find our way back to Haglenton.

"Your logic is sound," agrees Kurot.

Bruce

Nods in agreement. "I'm inclined to backtrace their origination as well."

Silvestri

"That seems a sensible course of action"
