Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Arn scoffs at listening at the door! He just goes in.
It leaves less time for whatever's on the other to hear us instead, anyway!

Arn Charges into a locked door!
The Party may have the keys to this room on them from the ones they found on the kobolds !

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Elusev takes out the key ring and heads towards Arn after seeing the door is locked, "These may help." he will then either give the keys to Arn or try them himself on the door.
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.

Dungeon Master:
As Either Arn & or Elusev try the various keys, it is found that a key that was on Bashka the beastmaster was the right one.
The door is now, unlocked !
Arn wasting no time proceeds what he intended to do in the first place & that was go through the door, with Elusev behind him with some lighting.
It turns out this room appears to be a storage room.
In the room are three crates, two large barrels, a woodpile, and a large wooden table.
Under the table is a large sack.

Jenks moves in and starts to look in the crates, barrels etc. He'll give them a tap first to try to gauge if there is anything live in them first.

Elusev walks towards the sack, poking it with his bow for a moment and then using his bow to push it over.
What kind of sound comes from it?

Procyon examines the wooden table to see any sort of significance.

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Dungeon Master:
Procyon examination of the table finds nothing out of the ordinary about it, it is just bare.
Elusev's poking of the sack under that table sounded like hitting wood.
When Elusev tips it over, the contents spill out to reveal chunks of wood & misc debris.
Jenks goes & taps the barrels & crates but learns nothing from doing so other than that they may be filled.
Jenks opens one crate & finds: 4 lengths of rope each 50 feet long, along with a dozen crampons, two climbing picks, and 1 hammer
Crate #2: contains 5 pairs of snowshoes and 5 pairs of boots
Crate #3: contains cold weather clothing designed for medium-sized humanoids (better fitting for dwarves)
Barrel #1: contains stale ale. A layer of mold floats on top.
Barrel #2: contains dry mortar. Time and moisture have caused some clumps to form.

Jenks picks up thesnow equipment.
"Do you think they used these for the stealing of the egg? Anyone think of a reason to take these?"

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
'Mayhap. Rope and climbing equipment is always good to have in surplus: one never knows when an adventure will lead him to a dungeon pit.'
Arn moves out to guard the hall while the others finish up searching the room. When everyone's ready, he checks the next door down the hall.

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
The Doctor keeps watch at the stairway but will move forward or hang with the dog and it's master if the move. The Doctor asks, "Idhrenwen, do you know much about this place? Should we look in a certain room perhaps? It looks like something came in here and pulled out the dead. Any idea what might be in the area that would do that and will it return?"
He stays alert and listens both above and where he is at while looking around occasionally.

Jenks takes 50' rope and the hammer. He selects which he things is the toughest/best rope.
He then examines the wood pile.

Elusev, after searching the room, will head out with Arn to search the next room.

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Dungeon Master:
Jenks finds nothing more in the wood pile, it appears to be just stuff to toss into a flame is all.
The Doctor's question to Idhrenwen gets answered with,
" There may be another beast here, I have never been down this part of the lair (2nd Hallway), would love to find my gear if it is still down here.
Beastmaster Bashka, would talk of playtime for the Dire Weasels with another pet named Ceasteraesc. "
Arn & the others see that there is another door at the east end of the hallway.

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
If all articles in the room are explored, Jenks will check for secret doors on the righthand wall (as we look at it), before exiting to catch up with the others.
Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Dungeon Master:
Jenks is definitely certain there are no secret doors on the righthand (east) wall: [1d6] = 1
Arn tries the door on the east end of the hallway & sees that it is locked.
Trying the keys the party found on Bashka, Hissiz, & Kul, it is found that one that was on Hissiz, unlocks the door.
Keeping with what StarBeard said, Arn opens the door as a party member stands behind him with lighting & sees the following:
The locked door opens into a square room roughly twenty five feet on a side.
The ceiling is higher here, making the room a perfect cube.
There are no other visible doors.
The walls are covered in dwarven runes.
Two great stone statues sit in the north and southeast corners.
They look as though they are on vigilant guard for the three dwarven sized stone sarcophagi located with them in the room.
A clear pool of water is the only other room feature.
It is shaped like a short well but the stones are fashioned of beautiful geodes.

Elusev makes his way towards the first and closest coffin, checking to see if it can be opened but not fully opening it quite yet.

Re: Chapter 6: Return to the Kobold Lair
Jenks stays out of the room, letting the fighting types do their thing. He has been in a lot of tombs so can predict what will happen next!

Elusev deduces that the top part of the sarcophagus looks to be able to be lifted off.
This would be the 1st one on the left on the north wall, i am assuming Elusev is at.
