Chapter 05: Round the bend
Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Sorry for the confusion. Thorelf's in game explanation as to why he wants to go back to the harbor is that Krooda is probably near the rooms we were searching, and that he wants to avoid her.
Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Tracing their route back to the waterfront (6) through the jailer's room and the narrow passage (5) that exits through the lowest part of the 'skeleton with flames' portal, the adventurers find that these areas look much the same as they did earlier. There are remains of wet footprints, though, in a line between the narrow passage (5) <-> the jailer's room (3) <-> the water filled hall (4).

Thorelf
"This way."
Thorelf turns left after exiting the door to the waterfront and walks along the waterline up to the bridge, trying to see if there's anything interesting to see either in the water or in the tower they pass.
If not, he will pause just before crossing the bridge, trying to peek into the cave beyond.

Korin follows Thorelf, keeping his eyes and hears open and alert as he goes.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
The waterfront looks as deserted as before. Thorelf spots nothing new about the 'westernmost' tower compared to before. Walking up to the bridge at the 'western' end, he peers across it. There is a path on the other side that seems to continue on-/inwards in the rock wall.

"Okay, here we go, safe distance from Krooda and all the insane death cults."
He waves his hand in a nobleman-ish manner towards the cave opening.
"Sir Tiny, would you mind?"

leads the way across the bridge. Aided by the light of Korin's torch, he can see into a straight, 10' wide tunnelled path through the rock for about 40', which then seems to open up again further ahead.

Thorelf whispers
"Okay, slow and steady now. I have a feeling this part might be more deserted. Or I hope so at least."

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Nothing startling or precarious occurs in the 'tunnel'. Quite soon, the hesitant heroes see that the opening at the end continues as another short bridge/gangway spanning some distance - much like the one they just crossed moments ago when entering from from the 'eastern' side.

Urges the others to move on.
"Let's keep on, this might be our way out. I can feel it."
Thorelf keeps checking for any traps or unstability in the bridge.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
The short bridge is safe and takes you across a small stream running from the 'south' out into....a giant water-filled cavern to the right. For indeed, you have arrived at what looks like a continuation of the waterfront area you just came from - a built-up quayside with laid stones continuing 'eastwards', lined with some towers and steps leading down to the water: almost a mirror of the area behind you. The short tunnel you just walked through was cut through rock that serves as a divider between the two waterfront areas.
No movement in sight.

Thorelf
"Oh dear, this place is huge. And mostly in ruins or at least deserted? Should we maybe check the towers at least for anything left behind?"
He will walk up to the closest tower and try to have a look inside.
"We should be on lookout for those lizardmen."
