Giotto:

Assuming that's roll under, Giotto will be upchucking...

The turbulence causes the air/raft to suddenly drop about 30 feet, bumps around for several minutes, and then up 15 feet.

Ringar, you keep your wits, and more importantly, stomach together.

Giotto, Jrec, and Maddox, on the other hand, left their stomach at the original altitude, and are feeling ill. Chiree and siblings, are a bit queasy, but not sick.

What do you do?

Ringar

Crazy!

You are not flying too high; your suits are for the cold. If you need to throw up, leaning over the side is possible.

Ringar, you get an idea: You look through what is the air/raft's "glove compartment" and find a box of motion sickness pills. You can offer them to the rest of the crew. It seems that other pilots have experienced this sort of turbulence. Meanwhile, you can pilot the air/raft until the others recover.

How is everyone doing? Do you plan on landing once you reach the mainland?

(more map pictures soon)

Jrec

Jrec picks a spot on the back of the seat in front of him and stares at that and absolutely nothing else.

"I hope", he says, in between taking deep breaths and holding them for as long as possible. "We are landing. As soon as. We are over. Dry land".

Ringar

Offers the pills to everyone: Found these! Might help.

He'll put the raft down once they hit dry land.

Madox simply hangs his head over the side till his stomach is empty. Casting a side at Ringar, he gratefully accepts the pill.

I'm back, from melting

The air/raft arrives over land, and Ringer lands it. You have arrived at the southern most point of the continent. It is late evening, and it is still quite cold and blustery. You now appreciate why most shipping is done with the submersibles. Chiree and friends ask to be let out. They look a bit queasy, and unsteady on their legs. Everyone is grateful for solid , non-moving ground.

What do you do next?

After Madox gets his legs under him again, he will do a quick survey of the area they have landed in. "Anyone want to take a short break and warm up or do we hit the sky again? Me personally I'm ready to move on. I think we are still too close to be making a lengthy break just right now."

Jrec

"Maybe for fifteen minutes or so. No reason to really hang around here. Let's just get some blood circulating again before we cram back inside that thing."

Chiree and friends look around, make chirping noises, and point towards the beach. They are also clapping their small hands with glee.

Maddox, you see what they are pointing at. It is a half meter high creature, bipedal, black with a white stomach, and a beak on its smallish head. It is waddling slowly up the beach, looking at all of you very curiously.

You have been spotted by one of the native penguin species*! It obviously does not get many guests and wonders what is going on. Chiree is delighted, and asks if someone will take an image (photo) of it.

What are you doing, and where is your next stop?

(If you can give me an idea on the continental map, that would be helpful.)

*because penguins, why not!

Ringar

Agreed, let's make the break short. Ringar will find a spot to relieve himself and do some basic calisthenics. Keeping his shotty close as hand. When everyone is ready he will take the raft back up and head north. Just in case, he take one of the motion sickness pills.

Maddox shrugs and takes a picture of the creature to share with Chiree. He will then relieve himself and stretch before getting back into the air raft. Once seated, he takes a motion sickness pill.

After coming to terms with solid ground, and dealing with necessities, everyone boards the air/raft for the next leg. The air should not be as turbulent, but taking a motion sickness pill is not a bad idea.

Chiree thanks Maddox for taking the picture. The little chirpers have had little to be happy about, and the penguin made their day.

The next leg will see you flying over some hills/mountains. If you follow the course given by the autopilot, you will be going almost directly north.

Will you take your next break in the mountains, or try to get to the open hex (line 3)? A reminder, each hex on the main map is 800km; full out, the air/raft can go around 100km/hr. Each hex is approximately 8 hours flying time.

Let me know, so I can create another "exciting" map for your next stop.

"Trying to fly two and half thousand K over mountains in a full capacity air/raft is just asking for a bunch of trouble.

I reckon we fly either NW or NE and try to go around the mountains as much as possible."

Madox

"I understand what you are saying, I think we should keep as close to the mountains as possible to avoid prying eyes."

Ringar

I reckon your right, we'll hug the coast to the north east.
