Dredd Doomsmith, dwarf trap-hacker:

"Mind?!" Dredd rumbled with incredulous joy at the door opening. "Try and stop me!"

"Our swords are the keys from the accursed poem," Dredd muttered as he methodically searched the floor and pillars for traps with his brass lantern.
"Can ye kindly retrieve mine?" he'll ask Zoster after the party was safely past the doorway.

Elsa steps forward and retrieves her sword from the door. Dredd starts his painstaking process of checking for traps everywhere you walk. The rest of you wait in the hall for Dredd to give the all-clear.

Dredd has been inspecting the floor for only five minutes when the door starts to swing shut.

Elsa the fleet footed, sporting her stylish Gianvetti Rossi enchanted couture Boots of Speed, puts her foot against the door and pushes it open with her Victoria's Girdle of Ogre Strength bolstered muscles.

"Make it quick!"

Zoster grabs the swords ( if there's time) and enters the pillared room.

Dredd Doomsmith, dwarf trap-hacker:

"Returning Elsa's sword to the slot may keep the door open!" rumbled the dwarf. "Then we'll all have time enough to enter safely."

I'm not sure if "Make it quick" applied to going in the room, or Dredd getting out, but oh well...
"I'm not losing my blade," grunts Elsa holding the door.

Then Dredd tries to exit the room. They can always re-open the door by slotting the swords.

So far, we have Zoster trying to enter the room (with two swords, if he can grab them on the way in), Dredd trying to exit it, and Elsa, with her sword, trying to stop the door from closing. Is everyone else staying in the hall?

(Dredd's goal is to be on the same side of the door as his swords. If Zoster brings them into the pillar chamber, he'll stay in the pillar chamber. Thanks.)

Elsa will go either in or out, depending on which side the party ends up on. Is the door hard to keep open anyway, or is just closing naturally?

There's a lot going on at once, as everyone tries to react to what other people are doing as they do it, but with little time to act. Dredd tries to figure out what side of the door his swords will be on. Zoster tries to figure out if he can grab Dredd's swords from the door and get into the room before the door closes.

Meanwhile, Elsa tries to stop the door from closing. With her boots of speed and gauntlets of strength, she should easily be able to hold open even the heaviest of doors. But the solid metal door is propelled by some unnatural force. Elsa, despite her great speed and strength, cannot prevent the door from closing.

After but a moment, the door slams closed. Elsa and Zoster find themselves in the corridor outside the door. Elsa has her swords; Dredd's swords remain in the door. As for Dredd, he seems to have been shut into the pillared chamber.

"We can not remain separated like this. Elsa, return the swords to the slots. We need to get this door open once again."

"Seems the only logical move" remarks Zoster. For the next two or three minutes, Zoster explains the concept of logic to the half-orc, assuming she's not versed in such things.

Was Zoster able to determine if he can remove the swords from the door when it's open?

There was too much going on as the door was closing for Zoster to get at the swords. However, Elsa was able to retrieve her sword while the door was open.

Elsa the Fair

"I'm not blond," snaps Elsa to Zoster. "Or a druid."

She slides her blade into the door again, next to Dredd's swords which remain the in door.

Elsa slides her sword back into the open slot in the door. The door once again swings open.

Dredd is on the other side, tapping his feet impatiently.

Zoster winks at Elsa and quickly grabs Dredd's two swords before heading into the pillared room. He's half surprised to see the dwarf still alive.

Xale was more than a little anxious about the possible fate of his fellow Dwarf while the door was shut, but upon its re-opening and seeing Dredd alive and well, he exhales and says; "Well thank Dalt that your still among the living Dredd." He then proceeds to look around the room while not touching anything and carefully looking at the many pillars for any signs, symbols, etc.

Zoster and Xale enter the room where the living Dredd already stands. As Zoster enters, he takes Dredd's swords from the door. It does not immediately start to close when the swords are removed.

Will the rest of the party also enter?

Malibran enters the pillared room scanning the darkness ahead.
