Gardo could always try the old "Bugs Bunny with lipstick and a skirt" routine.

Re: OOC II
One option is we leave Notai behind, but Svenn slips her his Ring of Invisibility which she uses to escape.
Re: OOC II
I vote for attack.
Re: OOC II
clarity on who has/hasn't got weponas & armour or PCs and retinue would be useful in deciding.

Re: OOC II
It's up to you regarding weapons and armor. Let me know if your character would have taken either off while dancing.
Re: OOC II
I don't think Newton would have removed his axes, they're relatively small. As for armour, if he could have danced in his drake leather he would have, he feels rather snazzy in it.

Re: OOC II
If the choice is between fighting Nacknosh now or entertaining the Lord of the Verdant Field and then fighting Nacknosh...I guess I think we should just do it now. Hence my most recent question.

Per the below quote, I think one of the options is to not fight at all:The_Wanderer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 6:04 pm If the choice is between fighting Nacknosh now or entertaining the Lord of the Verdant Field and then fighting Nacknosh...I guess I think we should just do it now. thirdkingdom wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 11:39 pm The deal is:
*Leave all the retainers and mercenaries behind as hostages. If y'all win, everyone lives. If y'all lose *everyone* gets eaten.
*Give Notai, Gardo's deer-folk retainer, to Nacknosh, y'all only need to leave a dozen hostages behind. If you win, you get the dozen hostages back (but not Notai). If you lose, *everyone* gets eaten (but maybe not Notai).
It's not the greatest deal.
Re: OOC II
Perhaps the Lord of the Verdant Field would be interested in helping us against Nacknosh. They certainly seem to have some sort of feud going.
Re: OOC II
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too.

Re: OOC II
Best idea yet. I'm in. So we leave the mercs and retainers then?
Re: OOC II
I am good with this idea as well.
Re: OOC II
Ribar would be useful for his spells.

I'm having trouble determining exactly how many retainers are in the party, but hopefully '12' will cover those most able to assist the party (5 PCs + 7 retainers). It has the added advantage of flipping Nacknosh's number back on him.

Re: OOC II
TK - I was looking at Into the Wild as I was leveling Goshawk to level 4. What is the damage chart meant to signify for the fighter chart on page 165?
Re: OOC II
The idea was that all retainers and mercs have to be safe and unharmed from anything, including accidents while the entire group is away. So, if someone gets hurt, the prince has violated his word. And, someone should stay back a ways and 'not return' to help insure that things go out way in case something doesn't work out over at the verdant fields. Basic idea was that Mariusz would either cause or have an accident that allowed him to be harmed while the entire group was away.
It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

Re: OOC II
It's the minimum damage that fighters inflict with all weapons at that level. The idea is that it allows a fighter to use, say, a dagger or short sword and still maintain their damage output, if desired.The_Wanderer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 2:11 pm TK - I was looking at Into the Wild as I was leveling Goshawk to level 4.
