Day 2, Turn 2 - The Second Shaft


Ull feels the rope he is hanging from go taut and vibrating in sequence. Has he looks up the sees his brother Pol climbing down the rope until he reaches the space just above him.

Ull is now dangling tied to the rope by the bottom of the shaft's wall with ample vision of his brother's backside as he hovers above.


Pol could have brought hammer and spike with him if he wishes.

Day 2, Turn 2 - The Second Shaft

Well, of course I brought those things...

"Ull! I'm gonna pound this here spike in the wall with the hammer I intuitively brought, so we can reach the floor, which I NOW see is about 50 foot below us..." Says Pol."...Hey! Stop lookin up my loincloth!"

getting out his shortbow and an arrow, Theket shouts down, "Brudders, you want me to shoot some light down to you?"

Pol is trying to figure how just how he is going to hammer a spike into the wall using one hand, when he hears Theket yell from above about shooting some light down. He opens his mouth to reply, then shuts it, not sure what to say. Theket never was the brightest of his brothers. Not as smart as him anyway.

Hmmm. Unwilling to admit to his brothers his lack of planning, he wraps one leg around the rope and holds on with one arm. Then, raising his left leg up to about waist height and pushing off the wall with his heel, he places the spike between his toes and grasps it, point towards the wall. He then attempts to hammer it with his free hand. He hopes this works, because he knows he looks like an idiot.

Lipput wanted to slam his head into the wall upon hearing and seeing his brother pull out a bow and offer to 'shoot light' down to his brothers. "Theket....they don't need light shot to 'em...let 'em see if they can make it so we can use rope to get all da way down"; he said as carefully and patiently as he could.

Theket shrugs and says, "A'ight," but keeps his bow in hand.

Day 2, Turn 2 - The Second Shaft


Surprisingly, Pol's improptu maneuver works. Holding to the rope and spike like a contortionist he manages to avoid smashing his toes with the hammer and after a few blows nails in the spike to the shaft's wall.

Theket shoulders his bow, puts one of his iron spikes in his teeth, says to his brothers, "mppph urrrrg oppaah", nods with approval, drools a bit, and climbs down the pipe.

Day 2, Turn 2 - The Second Shaft


Theket's climbing skills soon takes him to where is other two brothers are, dangling on the rope and it didn't occur to him on the way down that he had no need for them. The rope would have held the weight of the trio.

Lipput follows down after Theket; his sword sheathed and his shield slung over his back....

I believe the plan is approved then...

Ull, being the closest to the bottom end of the rope, will tie it to the spike attached to the bottom of the vertical pipe.

Day 2, Turn 3 - The Second Shaft


Ok, the game has apparently gone comatose. Lets defibrilate it back on via some handwaving. PbP doesn't led itself to precise descriptions of rope engineering and group votes.


By using hammer, spikes and their rope the brothers are able to all descent to the end of the shaft then tie the rope there and drop it down to the bottom of the great horizontal pipe it opens into.

As they descend down to the square pipe via the rope they notice it slopes down gently westards and notice a stream of murky water flowing down in that direction.

The pile of refuse they are climbing down to becomes more discernible. Egg shells, nut shells, at least one feather and other assorted pieces of junk. Loud scratching and heavy breathing can be heard echoing all around the pipe now, but the direction the sounds are coming from cannot be pinpointed.

The brothers climb down from the rope into the pile of refuse and make their way to the ground. At least one thing shines among the pile and its glint catches their eye.

Ull will quietly investigate the path toward the shiny thing.

Theket draws his scimitar and closely watches his greedy brother head towards Theket's shiny thing.

Day 2, Turn 3 - The Grand Pipe/Near the Rubbish Pile


The glint was seen somewhere on the pile propper, not down the pipe in either direction.


There is a lot of crap heaped on the pile but the brothers are certain something shinny stands amongst it. Ull advances to investigate and Theket draws his blade.

Ull suddenly finds his feet firmly stuck to the floor as he gets to the pile's edge. Looking down he sees he has stepped on some amberish substance that coats the ground right there. Try as me might he doesn't seem to be able to pry his boots off it.

Ull whispers. "uhh. guys... need some help here.

Theket whispers back, "take yer feet outta yer boots."

Lipput too draws his sword and is about to suggest to Ull to do the same thing Theket suggests. Turning a slow 360; Lipput warily watches for anything attempting to take advanatage of the situation....

"Don't move anybody!" Pol whispers harshly, betraying his terror. He casts Find Traps and turns in a 360 degree arc to see if there are any more of the sticky spots.
