Be aware that if you are taking the bodies of your friends out of here, I will want to know who is carrying whom, and how. Carrying a single body by yourself is hard work. Carrying one body between two people is easier, but will still require two hands each. Moreover, carrying the dead may preclude torches, if there are no free hands to go around.
I think we have 5 dead and 14 living. So we can double up on the carrying the dead and still have 4 people with free hands for torches and ready weapons.

Agreed. Clearly Torvid will want to assist with Colgher. Mal and Themble will assist as well.

When you've all decided who is doing what, let me know, and we'll move from there.

I know time is short for everyone this time of year, so the pace will be a bit slower while folks deal with the holidays (including myself), but I will not be abandoning you.

Daryll walks over and examines the rose carving, to see if he can determine how it works, what it does, etc. Find Traps roll: 15 + 1 = 16.

Assuming it looks okay, Daryll will manipulate it in whatever manner it seems possible to do, telling everyone to "stand back" at least 10 feet before he does so.
Do this first please, then we'll walk out.

Daryll finds no obvious traps (I roll because you would have no way to know the result until it proved effective...or not), and discovers that he can push the rose in and twist it clockwise. when he does so, a small panel opens on the slab, revealing an aged book and an iron mace whose business end is shaped like a skull. The book is roughly the size of a modern hard-cover dictionary, and is bound in pale leather. Written upon it are faded letters, which can just be made out as Ye Holie Ritef of Nergal. The leather is cracked in many places, and the tome seems fragile.

"Jed's gonna want to see this." Daryll quickly shoves the book and mace into his backpack.

"Let's get the hell outta here."

"Do we have to carry their bodies out with us?" Ellie wonders outloud. "Carrying them is going to slow us down...and if there are more of these things out there..."

"Maybe we could burn them?" offers Podrick.

"The fire would likely do us more harm than these things." counters Kadatheron.

"What if we blessed them er said some words that'd protect them from becoming one of these things?" Ellie asks no one in particular. She wonders if a god would answer her, give her the power to prevent their companions from becoming these undead things.

Fishing a bit here, but if it prevents us carrying bodies back up with us, I'm all for it.

Grim say, "we tried the burning idea once, but I don't think it did anything."

"Does anyone know how to bless a corpse?" HP says.

anybody have a relevant profession?

"I've been at a few burials at sea, but I don't think that will be help us none." replied Willem.

"We can't just leave them here. I wouldn't want to be left here if I had died, so I'm not leaving them here either," said Jonas, urged on by his new found courage.

"If we can two-man carry the bodies, then we should take them out," Grim says. "I'll take the front, Cisneros the elf can hold a torch for me up here. Daryll guard the rear. Does that leave us enough hands to move them back? We'll have to go slowly."

"Jonas and I can grab Olaf. Someone else will need to grab Garth."

(Willem grabs Olaf's backpack and puts Garth's lantern and dice into it. He also stows Olaf's hammer there. He also pockets the 66 cps they had between them)

"Here, you take this. Might be a bit handyier to use than your staff, " he says to Jonas, handing him Garth's club.

"I agree," says Torvid. "If anyone's willing, I could use some help with Colgher. He deserves a proper burial. His wife should know how he died."

"I'll help ya," Willie says.

HP looks loathe to touch a corpse, but will stand by the body of Garth. Gunnar will stand by Kent, and say "can anybody gimme a hand? How about you, girlie?" he says to Ellie.

Idle curiosity prompts me to ask - who is carrying the book and the mace?

As to a profession that might help with last rites, Kadatheron is a sage--not sure if that has any relevance or not, but there it is.

Podrick and Kadatheron will help carry whoever needs carrying. Ellie can help with navigation or torch-holding.

With Grim and Cisneros at the front, and Daryll and Ellie at the back, everybody else is two-man carrying bodies, and we're off... back out of this hell hole!

Grim will stop at the place with the wall that's busted down, and sniff the air again for gems, gold, etc.

Things are still quiet as you load up and get moving. You have no difficulty reaching the busted area, and Grim stops and sniffs at the air. He feels that there is definitely a smell of gold and silver coming from that direction.

Will we need to break down the wall more to be able to climb over/through it?

Correct.

A sledge hammer would probably be the best tool for the job.
