Agreed.

First, though, we have to get back across the boiling mud. Since my frost wand idea won't work, it seems like we should try to string the discs together, as suggested above.

Also, does anybody want to use Whelm? Bucky doesn't usually use hammers, but if no one wants it he may have a go with it.

i agree unfortunately we could have left half the party on the other end if we only knew there was nothing but a dead end. pun intended.

Brother Isaachar is happy to lead the way back across the discs and use his rope and grapnel to secure the chains swinging better. Do you want him to lead the way? save the consumable magics for when brute skill and a bit of lucky dexterity will save us from the hot mud bath. Though eyeing up No 9, Bro Isaachar still fancies pushing the flesh beast in...

I think it would be best if Asaahn ties the discs together, since he can fly reliably and so doesn't have to worry about slipping off a disc to his certain doom.

If we have a potion of gaseous form, how about this: Asaahn floats a few feet below anyone who tries to cross (except #9). In the (hopefully unlikely) event that someone slips, the person quaffs the gaseous potion and floats to safety. Asaahn meanwhile does his best to prevent that person's gear from dropping into the mud. If the person makes it back without slipping, Asaahn flies to the other side and gives the potion to the next person. And so on.

Don't know if I explained that good. Basically Asaahn acts as a "net" for anyone who would otherwise fall into the mud. IIRC, gaseous form only affects your person, not your gear, so the idea is that the guy with the flying carpet does his best to prevent the gaseous person's gear from being destroyed.

Anyhow, let me know what you think.

Sounds okay but are we abandoning Number 9? He's a pretty useful fellow. I don't think he can make it on the platforms, or drink the potion in time when he falls.

I'm still not entirely sure we want to leave No. 9 behind he is as mentioned very useful.

imho, I think he won't make it. I'd hate to lose him.

Last time we all crossed on one polymorph potion.

We still have another polymorph potion. The party member who is most injured could be the one to drink it; I think you get some healing with polymorph, as per the spell.

Failing that, we could all get across on one of our flying potions. Newly super-strong Urgosh might be able to carry Number 9?

Basically the party is swapping one potion for a flesh golem.

Thoughts?

I didn't mean to suggest that we leave #9 behind, I agree he is quite the asset. I just meant that he wouldn't have Asaahn or a potion of gaseous form to help him out.

But a potion of flying or polymorph might be easier, and we know the polymorph solution works. I was happy to volunteer my potion last time, but I don't want to speak for whoever has it this time.

I think the polymorph may be the best option. It worked before, it should work again and we'll keep the golem. I was hoping we could come up with something that would let us keep the potions, but I think we should go with polymorph. Besides, who wouldn't want to ride a pegasus again?

Looks like most of us agree on the polymorph solution, or at least we haven't heard any better ideas in the last week or so. Let's do it.

Agree.

BA, I'm traveling for work tomorrow and will be back Monday night.
If I'm slow to respond this week, please NPC my character for me to keep things moving. Thanks.

What a waste of a flesh golem.

The last spell book was trapped. Asaahn will pass on the scrolls.

If Goroth has proficiency with a hammer, he should take it.
