Re: OOC
Before I do the math to figure out shares, do we want to give a share to a party fund?
...or let me put it this way:
If we have a party fund: 8 shares = 7gp, 4sp, 5cp each
If not: 7 shares = 8gp, 7sp, 2cp each
I'd say let's just put all the extra gear in some kind of party fund.

Re: OOC
party fund is fine by me granted if one of us dies the gear and money gets split anyway. I wouldn't expect you guys to bury my character with all his gear and money. Doesn't do him a lot of good anymore.

Yes. The last time into the mountain, the group went up one of the staircases to the upper level. I think it was the south staircase, but it doesn't really matter because both staircases go to the same room.The_Wanderer wrote:Sorry, did we go up either of those stairwells previously?

Hey, everyone. I hope your holidays were fun and relaxing.
FYI, I'm going to be starting a new job in about a week. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to access the forums from work, and I probably won't have time even if I could. I would say that posting may slow down, but the posts have already been painfully infrequent. The next setting of slowness is probably indistinguishable from "off," so I'm going to try to keep the game updated but we'll see how it goes.

Re: OOC
We're back! Sorry again about the long delay. I ran Molly and Grond as NPCs for now. I've asked their players whether they want to continue in the game. If not, they'll wander off with Twiddle (alas, Rusty hasn't been on in months).
Please welcome Darklin2, who is playing Abraham.

Here are the rules for firing into melee in this game:sirravd wrote:Are there penalties/risk of friendly fire for firing into melee? If so, Gilly will stand back this round.
So, yes, there's always a chance of hitting someone with friendly fire, although the risk isn't as high as, say, AD&D1e BtB.Zhym wrote: A missile fired into melee is at -2 to hit (the other melee combatants act as cover for the target). If the attack misses its intended target, it has a 50% chance (1-3 on a 1d6) of hitting a random melee combatant (including enemies in the same melee).
Re: OOC
Captain Kinkajou is out, alas, so Molly will be wandering off. I haven't heard back from Modric yet about Grond.
I'm going to allow a little more time for actions for Cy and Abraham, but I hope to update this weekend. I hope the new, rapid once-a-week update pace isn't too dizzying for anyone.

Hey all. The latest update is up.
A couple of notes on how I'm managing combat now:
A couple of notes on how I'm managing combat now:
- If you include initiative in your roll (or your post), I will use that for individual initiative. If you don't, I will use group initiative for your PC. In the latest round, for example, I had individual initiative rolls for Cy and Iliro, so I used those. I rolled separate initiative for PCs and Monsters and used that result for everyone else. Players that I NPC go last in the round.
- I've been assigning targets randomly, just because it's the easiest way for me to run the combat. Where players call out specific targets, I try to respect that (so Abraham, for example, attacked the biggest kobold—i.e., the one with the most HP). I also assume that everyone is reachable by enemy monsters unless y'all say something different (e.g., I'll let players say that their PCs take position in front of other PCs to protect them).
