Zee jumps up from his resting place and shouts, "Intruder, intruder!" and lunges at the beast, axes in hand, to protect his friends.

Laffy immediately wakes up and flies into the air to ascertain the threat and assist accordingly. Upon seeing the spider moving toward Crow Laffy will project a fist of force at the spider in an attempt to push it away from Crow giving him time to gain his feet and defend himself.

The Rock Spider moves methodically toward Crow it's gnarled rock-like jagged teeth gnashing and chomping as it moves.

Summary: The Spider’s Bite!
Location: 2 miles NW of Gillian

Mumble whistles a warning cry and moves toward Crow. Brodie does the same, readying his spear.

Laffy wakes immediately, flies up into the air, and projects a mental fist of energy at the creature. The force of energy knocks it sideways several feet. Several large shards of limestone-like rock flake from its skin.

Hearing the warning call Zee jumps up, grabs his axes, yells "Intruder, intruder!" and attacks the Rock Spider. His first attack is thwarted by Laffy’s Project Force attack.

Xirtan wakes in a startled state and instinctively projects a Phantom Force in the direction of the rukus. Mumble, Crow, Brodie, Zee, and the spider are all blasted with an invisible force, shoving them 2’ from their current positions.

DEX-DC: 12
DEX-DC's Mumble [3d6+2] = 10+2 = 12, Crow [3d6+2] = 7+2 = 9, Brodie [3d6+1] = 14+1 = 15, Spider [3d6-2] = 9-2 = 7
DEX-DC Zee [3d6+2] = 11+2 = 13

Crow and the spider are knocked clean off their feet, the others manage to recover quickly. Zee looses no time in defending his comrades, slashing at the spider with his second axe. Sparks fly as the blade skids across the rock-hard flesh of the spider. A single chip of stone falls to ground as a result.

Crow quickly rolls to his feet, sword in hand. He is confused as to what blew up off his feet and several feet away but for the moment killing the spider made of rock is his main concern. He attempts to flank behind the spider as it looks to the others fighting it, stabbing down with his sword to try and wedge between a rock plate and score whatever organs the spider may have...

Zee looks from his axes to the spider realizing the blades will do little to no good against solid rock. He pulls Fen from his pocket, tosses her in the air, shouts “Impetum, and charges the spiders with the blunt end of his axes yelling, “AAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”, while attempting to dodge and weave away from the creature's many teeth.

Summary: The Death of a Spider
Location: 2 miles NW of Gillian

Brodie takes swift advantage of the toppled spider and casts Dancing lights. The lights dance and weave around the many eyes of the Rock Spider thoroughly confusing and disorienting it.

Xirtan assists Zee by giving him an additional 4 points of defense. Mumble scrounges around and finds a medium sized rock at the edge of the road and lobs it against the light stunned Rock Spider. The rock bounds off of the Spider’s head, smashing several of it’s eyes. The Spider flails its legs in pain and lets out a screech that sounds more like a siren than anything else.

Rock Damage [1d4] = 2

Crow siezes the opportunity and stabs his sword througho the dancing lights, spearing the spider in one side of its face. A soft grinding of stone followed by a second screech issues from the Spider. Its stony legs stick straight out and begin to spasm. Zee dives in and whacks the spider in the face several times and it ceases to move.

Zee tucks Fen in his pocket and slides down off the dead spider.

Crow sheaths his sword after checking for scratch marks from the stone, "Lets stay sharp, make sure no more are going to sneak up on us and continue to camp until morning. We need to be rested if there are going to be more of them in that town. Reports told of a spider incursion, just not that they were made of rock."
