Find/Remove Traps Thief Skill Checks[1d100] = 16
Morik will also be feeling the floor with his feet to ensure he does not walk right back into the pit.

Re: Morik's Run (IC - Morik. GreyWolfVT only)
Morik feels along the left (south) wall, searching for traps or secret compartments as he does so. The wall goes about 15' feet, then turns east at an angle out about 25 to the stairway. From there, it goes at an angle northwest for 25', turns south for about 15'' until he's back at the door. The thief figures the room is triangular shaped with the stair entry the tip of the triangle and the wide base being the other end, where Morik is at the door.

Hmm so the map is changed my idea was way off from the sounds of it.
Morik takes a deep breath and goes through the door only after searching it for tripwires and other traps. Thief Skill Checks[1d100] = 79

Re: Morik's Run (IC - Morik. GreyWolfVT only)
Morik opens the creaking door - intentionally squeeky he wonders? A short 10' corridor is revealed, leading into a room from which torch light emanates. The thief examines the immediate floor and ceiling in front of him for traps and finds none.
Morik slinks to the entry of the room. From his position in the southeast corner, he sees the room is 20' across and 30' long. To his right in the middle of the east wall is a door. Across from it in the west wall is a 1' diameter metal gong, held inside a locked cage with bars an inch apart. The distance from bars to the gong is about 16".
Above the gong is a wall sconce with a lit torch. In the middle of the room, getting up from a simple wooden chair, is a roguish chap with a 10' pole. He twirls it expertly and says: "Your task: ring the gong. My task: stop you."
Swinging the pole, the man leaps toward Morik!

Morik throws his candle at the man then slips out into the shadows attempting to conceal himself. The attempt here is distraction then try and slip in and put the torch out so he can't see me. If Morik is successful and can draw the man into the lightless alcove he will try to sneak back into the lit room and put the torch out. Morik will use the torch throwing it at the area where the gong was.

Thug and Gong - Round One
The thug with the pole walks over to the short corridor.
"Nice try," he says with an evil smile. He swings the pole at Morik. The thief ducks.

Re: Morik's Run (IC - Morik. GreyWolfVT only)
Morik feeling utterly cursed this day of all the days he ever needed some luck he had none. In another attempt to get away from the man he will try and run to the gong and ring it with his sword blade. You tell me what you need here. I'm fearing the roller at the moment.

Thug and Gong - Round Three
Morik dashes nimbly around the pole-weilding thug to the locked caged gong. He tries to slide his sword blade through...
The thug almost whacks Morik with the pole, but the thief rolls under it and back up to his feet.
Actions for Round Four!

... but the bars are too close. Morik realizes then that something thinner will be needed, or the cage lock will need to be picked.Grognardsw wrote:...in the west wall is a 1' diameter metal gong, held inside a locked cage with bars an inch apart. The distance from bars to the gong is about 16"...

Re: Morik's Run (IC - Morik. GreyWolfVT only)
Morik looks the man in the eyes "Well I am sorry it had to come to this I truly am. But I guess I have few options left." and swings his sword trying to hit the man with the flat of his blade.
To Hit Broad Sword[1d20] = 13 S/M Dmg[2d4] = 7 L Dmg[1d6 +1] = 2+1 = 3
and potentially fails I'd imagine.

Morik swings again this time trying to disarm the man using his broad sword.
To Hit Broad Sword[1d20] = 5 S/M Dmg[2d4] = 5 L Dmg[1d6 +1] = 5+1 = 6
seriously..... just one roll higher than 13 yeesh...

Re: Morik's Run (IC - Morik. GreyWolfVT only)
Morik swings again! sorry was moving all weekend and had to take care of a sick wife yesterday. No internet at home as of yet but I'll post from work like I was before.
To Hit Broad Sword[1d20] = 8 S/M Dmg[2d4] = 6 L Dmg[1d6 +1] = 3+1 = 4
good to see the roller hasn't changed since my absence.
