Well seeing as my character is new he wouldn't have the knowledge of these past events, stories or knowledge. Even if the player did read some of this prior :)

"Hmm sounds like some very important history there, and why is it that one paladin is holding a book and not a shield like the others i wounder? That appears to be very important." Strongarm says in serious tones hoping to shock the group with his observation skills. ;)

Talaseka thinks for a moment and adds, "This is the one alright. You can even see a family resemblance I think. He was kind of famous for defeating an evil cult that had.....Oh my......You know, I ve looked at this painting so many times that I dont even notice the book anymore. I wonder if it is the same book that my father used to read. I was very young when he died, but I do remember him reading a book that looked alot like that one. I must ask Erital, the head cleric, if it still exists. It couldnt be trivial if my ancestor here wanted it in the painting I wonder if his story and ours is related."

"This book may have been what the thieves were looking for in my quarters back across town."
She looks at Benson and Branc for assurance that this is probable.

Agrim returns to Nicholi, later than had he hoped for, to find the others have left already.
Nicholi seems to be preparing to leave also. He says to Agrim, "I have been asked to attend a special meeting of the clerics of St.Cuthbert.
I suspect we will learn some details that your friends may find useful. Escort me won't you?"

Gilnes nods at the line of reasoning but stops short at hearing Bensonn's voice, "Oh it seems we are on the right trail now. Once we find the book we can being to put matters right. But tell us, as best as you can recall My lady, what of these tails your father used to tell you of"

My lady, where would the book be located? It is best we find out why they wanted it, it may lead us to the villans we seek.

"Ah yes a voice of reason, locating the book and knowing where to look for it. Very important indeed. If you need the new face to leave the room I will do so if it will help in sharing any information not entrusted with a new person." Strongarm finishes talking then walks out into the hall to wait and begins to hum then sing a dwarven song

The door opens just as Strongarm was heading out. His leaving is halted as four clerics walk in. A scribe wearing reddish brown robes takes a seat near the front. The clerics are all oufitted in green. They all greet Talaseka warmly, then Talaseka introduces you all to Erital Kaan-Ipzirel, head of the temple and her assistants, Latmin, Doru and Firgil. They all seem pleased to meet the entire lot of you.
Once the formalities have been accomplished, Talaseka turns to the high priest Erital to ask of the book. "Forgive me, but before we begin, may I ask you about the painting of Lord Thraydin, my ancestor there."
Erital nods.
"I was wondering," Talaseka begins again, "...if you know anythng about the book he holds in his hand. I seem to remember my father having a similar book when I was a child and he was still alive. Do you know if this is the same book, or where it might be found? I hope it not lost over the years."
Erital whispers something to the scribe, then turns to Talaseka. "That book was a record of all the important deeds of his life, written by his own hand, in order to pass the family history from generation to generation."
The scribe leaves. "When your parents died it was stored here along with your sword & shield and plate. You obviously have the armor and weapons. Ive sent the scribe to notify the Vaultmaster to locate it. If you never recieved it, it must still be there. We will know in a few minutes. In the meantime, let us take our places. Everyone have a seat."
Erital walks to the end of the great oval table and takes her seat. All heads in the room turn to see the doors opening once again and Nicholi enters, with Agrim the Wanderer in tow.
Sorry Im late. Nicholi adds and takes his place with the other clerics.

Go ahead and post something your character(s) is/are attempting to do , before the meeting starts.

The doctor takes a seat and then speaks up when he deems it appropriate to do so. "If I may be so bold as to say, I believe that our group is working towards the same goal as the man depicted in the tapestry. We are currently facing a dark force in this city and we wish to learn more about the past to better arm ourselves for the present, all in the name of helping protect our city and those who make their home here." The doctor says all of this in good faith for he believes that the men assembled before are reasonable and may very well share a similiar goal in mind.

Agrim, having been quite dejected about the party's failure and expulsion from Greyhawk, had spent his time away reflecting and communing with the spirits, in fear that he had brought continued disapproval upon himself and his friends. On returning to Nicholi's, he all but smiles at the priest's invitation back into the city. "Good, th-this is good n-news indeed. I will follow y-you t-to th-th-th ... back t-to Greyhawk."

On entering the secret meeting of priests and scribes and such, he nods to his friends and companions. "Sorry I'm l-late. N-Nicholi helped me back into th-the city. Were the sewers pleasant?" At which he grins from ear to ear, looking very half-orcish indeed.

After this, Agrim sits quiet, speaking only if spoken to, and listening intently. When the diary is sent for, he looks around helplessly. "I have l-little book l-learning, but I will see th-this darkness cleared from th-th-th ... from Greyhawk. The spirits of my ancestors demand my obedience until all is set r-r-right."

Erital looks and nods to the doctor, and anyone else with pre-meeting comments, but sits silent.
The scribe reappears and takes a seat at a high stool behind Erital. Those with a viligant ear can hear him whisper that the Vaultmaster is still looking for the book and will send message with the results of the search. From his perch, he can see and hear everyone at the grand table and he begins to write.
Erital begins the meeting with some formal notations of time and purpose of the meeting. She then asks Talaseka to tell her story.
While Talaseka truthfully, and at length, relates of what she knows, ...

Strongarm does not say anything he just watches the half-orc out of the corner of his eye and listens to the clerics.

Nicholi and each of the heroes are asked. Attempts at deceit or neglect are called out. Every detail of events are revealed.
Even Gilnes' escapades with the local womenfolk are mentioned.
Strongarm's contact at the Sewer Unionshop are named.
The names of Nayman Lesh, Darius, Thorin, Garth, Guardsman Hedges, Jacob, Skuzz and Bazil are all mentioned during Branc's precise telling of what he knows.
Cobbler even reports of the locals plea against Abriago Mechenstien.
The clerics begin to look concerned as the story fills itself in and nears its conclusion. Even the scribe looks up from his work with a worried look.
When the tale is completely told, Talaseka volunteers for service and asks the clerics for advice and assistance.
