Watches Armistad, fascinated at his interaction with the gull. There is more to that one than meets the eye Dree thinks. She doesn't voice any of this, for now she is merely wishing to observe him and her fellow ship guardians.

Aden moves around the boat as the evening grows late, drawing the four guards into a short conversation.

"This is going to be a journey of several days and we are not going to be able to stand watch the entire time." he says, "We will have to take our rest. There are four of us, so I propose we set two watches during the night so all of us can get some sleep. Two awake watching for danger, while two sleep, then switch."

Aden looks around at the other three, "If that sounds acceptable to you, I'll take the first watch. Who is with me?"

Stays in his pose for an hour or until he is satisfied he can gather no more information regarding the
'birdseye view' of the surrounding regions and possibility of craft bearing down on our position.

He probably finds the experience quite disorientating, the airborne flight and panaromic views are exhilarating but the constant squawking over food and then grossly, the regurgitation of fish into the chicks gullet, he mimics the retching himself like he is choking in his mostly empty stomach.

He gives his brief report to Ustasi. As to night-watch duties, he prefers being awake during the pre-dawn hours so will volunteer a later shift.

After dinner, the crew settles down for the night. Elaith remains at the helm while the others go below to rest. The wind is still fresh from the east-northeast, and the barge runs along on the quartering wind. "Don't fall overboard," Elaith warns. "We cannot risk turning around to pick you up in a fight, and we are traveling much faster than a man can swim." She points out several neatly coiled lines stowed on the cargo battens. "Use these lines to tie yourself to the boat."

The evening watch passes uneventfully. The wind is still strong, propelling the barge at an impressive speed. The moon dimly illuminates the area around the boat, giving the humans light enough to see perhaps a bowshot away. Elaith turns the helm over to one of the crewman, and goes below to rest.

"I'll be with you," Mirek volunteered.

While on watch, Mirek ties himself to the boat.

Mirek notes that each coil is about twenty feet long.

Who is standing the second watch, and when do you take over?

Aden notes what Elaith has said about the rope and also ties himself to the boat.

As for when the second watch takes over, Aden hopes it will be about half way through the darkness, however, if no one comes out to take watch, he'll go over to Mirek and suggest that one of them go into the cabin and ask the other two to take second watch.

Mirek agrees and wakes the others at the mid point of the night.

The second watch settles in while the barge continues its downwind run. The moonlight is dimmer now, as thin clouds obscure it from time to time. The land is only visible as a darker mass on each side, but it appears to be closer than before. The crewman on the helm adjusts the lashings on the tiller, and goes forward to adjust one of the sails.

Whomever is on watch, please roll 1d20.

Amistad: perception check [1d20]=11

Probably wandering around the barge doing a perimeter walk around the boat and pausing at the stern and bow in equal measure.

While the crewman adjusts the sails he will stay by the tiller to keep the rudder in position.

The tiller is lashed in position, and Amistad sees or hears nothing out of the ordinary.

If you mean Aden and Mirek, they’re asleep, aren’t they?

I thought they were, so that answers the question. Dree is awake and on watch, then.

Very well. I will move things forward this evening to give Darithe a chance to respond.

Dree stands watch with Armistad. She will keep to herself during the watch though she does check in with Armistad periodically.
She warily keeps an eye on all the activity on the ship.

Perception Check: [1d20]=17

(Sorry heavy workload this week)
