(All this subject to GM approval0...

From behind a dune to the rear of the monster, a female dwarf appears, dressed for battle, carry a heavy flail. See the danger, she sneaks up, refraining from yelling the family war cry of 'Down the hatch, let's despatch!" but muttering it between her teeth nonetheless.
(Unaware of the OGA being cast, let's see what transpires - trampling, I don't doubt!).

Several things happen at once, for things fell into simultaneous action, blending into each other. It appeared that two of the companions were about to be smothered by one of the sand golems, monstrous in its fist and intent. Then oh go away! was cast and the same thing appeared to inhale, collapse and the remains go scurrying off toward the oasis.

The other golem came down upon the adventurers, not even realizing its companion had marched off. Bladed weapons simply ground through the remaining figure, causing it no harm in the least.

Flambo

"That leaves the matter settled in my mind. There is only one way for us to defeat this monstrosity."

Flambo turns and legs it, letting the wizards banish this one too.

Yobble boldly placed himself between the nearest spellcaster and the granular golem.

Ulrich

Ulrich looks with disdain at the remnants of his makeshift staff
failed save for staff,[_2d6] = (3+4)=7
seeing his companions actions his option seems clear; he summons his strength for one more cast. Raising both arms, one still holding a shard of wood, he stares at the remaining creature and shouts ”OH GO AWAY”.
Just enough strength to cast this one 11 - 5 (first cast) -5 (second cast) = 1. No cost reduction since staff broke.

Arlen isn't really sure what to do, but his little short sword blade went right through the thing. Maybe blunt? When he can, he steps back to use his sling.

Sling [_2d6+4] = (6+1)=7+4 = 11

The onlooking dwarf watched, calculated and charged into the fray.

Was she there in time to lend a hand?

At the last syllable of the spell, the golem turns to run then splits up into its myriad of grains and substance. When the dust settled it seems that the Azur Oasis turned out closer than was originally thought. Of note, is the looking dome with the telescoping retangle beyond.
OOC: Distribute 100 AP's about yourselves for that marvelous shout of a spell.

Ulrich

His strength sapped, Ulrich drops to a knee and tosses the remnant of his “staff’ aside.

“What . . . were . . . those . . . things?”

Yobble laid a hand roughly on Ulrich's shoulder. "Some kinda hideous magical beast," he growled. "D'you need a hand up, youngster?"

Flambo

"Well done, everyone. As a challenge those sand spirits weren't very parlous. Let us continue to the objective at hand: namely, the oasis yonder."

OOC: Are we splitting the 100? I'm happy to give Flambo a half-share since he only fought one round and scampered the next.

I presume, I know there are gamemasters that tally and count like loremasters. But alas I am not one of them. I know the oh go away was vital to the "defeat" of this challenge. If there is a solid system to xp in TnT, I have yet to find it.

If any would have the sense of looking to the Azure oasis, and it is most likely that someone would, they would see again the dome and extension rising just a bit higher than the setting sun behind it.

Arlen, fairly spooked at the whole 'magic beast coming out of the sand' episode, suggests they move on. "Them things might come back."

Ulrich

Gathering his strength, Ulrich trudges off toward the oasis.

“That was lucky, I had nothing left in me.

He keeps his eyes out as they go for any items that he might turn to being a makeshift staff.
So he’ll regain strength at 1 pt / turn, but I don’t see how long a non-combat turn is. My guess is ten minutes?

Yobble also moves toward the oasis - cautiously, dismayed that his spear had no effect on the sand golem, wondering whether his stone axe might have worked better.

Flambo keeps a keen eye out for movement on the oasis and the dome beyond as they ride forward.

"When we reach the water, let's take a drink and determine our distance to the dome and how much light we have left. We might have to make camp there before continuing on to our adventure's end."
