Sorry- I didn't realize I was an action behind. Then, I was at Whos' yer Con this weekend.

Flynn drags Hridian away from the fight, and does whatever first aid he can manage.

Loch swings his mighty battle ax at the rats but once again they are able to dance out of the way from the hefty ax head.

4 giant rats attack Loch:
[1d20] = 10, [1d20] = 7, [1d20] = 7, [1d20] = 2

2 giant rats attack Wharam:
[1d20] = 10, [1d20] = 7

Wharam is able to spear two of the rodents with his weapons as they rush about around his legs.

With that, the remaining rats disperse back into the weed filled fields.

Wharram wipes his blades on a dead rat corpse, before making his way over to where Flynn is tending to Hradian, grimacing as he moves. "Damn rats are vicious buggers. Is he still alive?" he enquires of Flynn.

"Is everyone OK?" Loch keeps an eye out in case the rats come back.

Minor Scar. A minor scar has no significant adverse effect, in fact after a few ales some folks might even be impressed by it (doubtful). Some scars fade over time, others might require the Regenerate spell to erase completely.

Hradian has some scarring on his lower legs from the bites and scratches.

Grinning, Flynn uses some of his water to flush out the wounds.

Motely approaches gingerly. "You'll need to get that thoroughly cleaned. You don't want to chance getting Slough Pox." He then approaches Loch. "How do you want to procede? You're one man down now?"

Wharram examines the rat bite on his leg "What do you need to clean it with?" he asks Motley.

Loch

Loch stops and takes the time to clean his wounds so he doesn't get the pox. "I think we best get some help with these wounds first, then look into why rats are attacking people like this. I have never heard of packs of normal rats attacking armed men."

Wharram will clean his wound too

Wharram examines the rat bite on his leg "What do you need to clean it with?" he asks Motley.

Motely gives the rat bit a once over and stands up. "For the small ones, a bit of cauterizing should work. Kiss it with a hot brand. The larger ones we can fill with lard, bind it up with good clean linen. That should help hold off any infection. But only time will tell."

Are you heading back to the inn?

Hell, I sure would like a look at that mill and surroundings. Until these wounds heal, though, I'm not much use out here. Inn sounds good to me, says the rogue, miffed for being injured enough to say it.

Jah knows, we mus' protec' ourselfs. Flynn's ever-present smile is missing, replaced by a look of caution and concern for his fellows. He carries his short bow in one hand, an arrow nocked.

You literally limp back to the inn where some of the farmers, having heard of your intent, have gathered. You are bombarded with questions of how well things went and what was learned. Seeing Hradian's injuries, the barmaid rushes out and helps you all back into the inn. Some of the farmers look at your injuries questioningly yet no one gathers the nerve to say a thing. Motely is the first to break the silence. "Lads, I wish you the best should you desire to return to Old Bengart's Mill, but I will not be going with you again. You saw what was out there and there's still plenty of ground to cover to reach the farmstead." The farmers begin talking with one another in hushed tones, desperation evident in their voices.

I will consider this a meaningful combat so everyone is eligible for a short rest. Please make WILL rolls for each of the items listed below as needed.

Short Rest
After at least one meaningful combat (the GM determines what constitutes a meaningful combat), an adventurer may spend a few minutes recovering and tending injuries before pressing on. Walking and light duties may be performed during this period.
Each time a short rest is taken, one or more Will checks may be made. Each successful check allows the character to gain one short rest benefit as outlined below:

1. Recover half of any lost hit points, plus Con bonus.
2. Recover one use of an expended class ability.
3. Recover one Reroll Pool die.
