Tyrrell

Finds the smelly zomblodyte hard going, just to melee.

Hammer attack, melee [1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2 Damage [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

With the penalty and bad light it must equate a minus rollmight be better of rolling a set of 4d6 instead

Dorath swings just trying to keep the trog zombie away from his fallen comrade.

Attack with Quarterstaff [1d20] = 16, damage with Quarterstaff [1d6] = 4

Tog swings her sling again, whipping a rock at the vivisected horror. The rock instead smacks Carchannoi squarely in the back of the head. (-1hp) Carchannoi turns to find the cause, losing its opportunity to strike the troll and sending Tog scurrying momentarily for cover.

Tyrrell swings hard with his hammer, but the Trog deflects his blow, causing Tyrrell to lose his grip. His hammer goes flying into the next room where more glass is heard to shatter. (Critical fumble)

Dorath brings his staff around for another fierce blow, impacting the creature's oozing side. The troglodyte grabs the staff against him and yanks, pulling Dorath within reach for its claws and then a vicious bite on his unarmored forearm. (-7hp, Critical hit) Dorath swoons from the pain as blood spurts and gushes from the severed arteries, dropping to the floor next to Gaeron, their blood washing together in a growing pool.

Tyrrell

Ditches the shield and draws his heavy Flail swinging it over his head and landing a powerful blow...on a desk or table sending shards of glass and pottery about.

Heavy Flail melee [1d20-4] = 7-4 = 3 damage [1d8] = 8

are we still at -2 Street due to nausea? Macro above reflects that.

Carchannoi casts Charm Person on the troglodyte. if possible to retract: attacks with his warhammer. [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20 [1d8+1] = 3+1 = 4

After briefly glowering at Tog, Carchannoi turns back to weave his enchantments on the zombie creature. Tog wings another rock past Carchannoi and hits the creature, the stone thudding wetly into its spongy flesh. Carchannoi tries to wind his way into the creature's psyche but finds it penetrable - there is no real mind to effect, only bound negative material energy binding it together.

Tyrrell drops his shield and pulls forth his flail, dramatically smashing a table and some glassware. The beast slips inside his guard and bites what was his shield arm. (-3hp)

Gaeron is pale, bled-out, his breath slowing. Dorath continues to bleed profusely.

Gaeron is at three rounds. Please roll [1d20] Save vs Death.

I'll allow the retraction.

Carchannoi makes a solid hit on the beast as it bites Tyrrell, but the creature remains standing, barely. The wounds taking their toll as the creature's flesh has difficulty holding together.

Provost Tyrrell

Wrenches his arm free, headbutting the beast to knock him back and create some swinging room. He is aware of colleagues bleeding out but can do nought save fight on.

Heavy Flail melee [1d20-4] = 12-4 = 8 damage [1d8] = 5

Gaeron's ragged breathing diminishes to an inaudible whisper, then stops altogether.

Tyrrell and Carchannoi stand in the creature's way, its methodical, unthinking advance continuing even as its sustaining enchantments begins to visibly unravel. Tog wings another rock between them, caving in one side of its head as it breaks the thin skull bone and exposes the unleashes a torrent of the oozing material within down the creature's side. (-4hp) Neither the cleric nor elf land a blow as they swing in the half-light, trying to contain their gorge.

Gaeron's pale face falls slack as he breathes his last breath, the pool of blood spread around him on the floor. Dorath lies near him, likewise unconscious, bleeding, and untended, his body fighting to cling to that last vestige of hope before passing beyond Baudh and into Gwanwen's domain.

The zombified troglodyte abomination lurches towards Carchannoi, its flesh no longer holding together as only the thinnest thread of enchantment still holds its limbs together. It's left arm comes around in a wild swing and is blocked by Carchannoi's hammer, the bones audibly splintering as the limb cracks off and falls to the floor, not enough magical energy to keep it part of the whole. In the confusion caused by this event, however, it savages Carchannoi with its other claw and its horrid, rotten teeth, rending the elf's studded leathers. (-4hp) Carchannoi also falls under the blow, swooning in shock from the grievous wounds and collapsing near Dorath and Gaeron's bodies.

Tyrrell's action?

Tyrrell

"He who shelters in the Most High, shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty." The cleric utters some ancient Psalmic text and takes another swing at the trog beast.

Heavy Flail melee [1d20-4] = 17-4 = 13 damage [1d8] = 4

"Grab this one and bind his wounds Tog, before he bleeds out." he asks pointing to Dorath

Calling valiantly on his deity through his quoting of scriptures, Tyrrell brings down his flail and crushes the abomination before him. Blue-black wisps of light, like vapor, come off him as he falls, the animating magic leaving him. The corpse hits the floor, splattering and beginning to decompose rapidly to goo, held far too long from its natural fate. In a few minutes a sticky red/green puddle is all that remains.

Tyrrell issues his directions to Tog the goblin. Tog sneers at the lawful cleric and the dying wizard, a wicked gleam in its eye as it abandons Dorath to bleed further. Instead the goblin moves to Carchannoi, tying grimy cloth strips to bind and compress the wounds, stabilizing him while he still breathes. Knowing Dorath's plight and seeing the defiance of the goblin, Tyrrell is able to reach Dorath just in time. He stabilizes him but he is pale and dangerously close to death. Even the slightest movement could end him.

The torch begins to gutter out on the floor; Tyrrell needs a new light or he'll be alone in the dark with his unconscious charges. And a goblin.

Tyrrell

"Well done Miss Tog, you saved him in time. I am sure great will be your reward. Let us place them on these tables away from these blood and guts. What was that thing?"

Tyrrell acts impassively to her choosing to aid another. He doesn't turn his back on her though and will make a new torch placing it in an available sconce. Surveying the scene he will dress wounds and then look for useable stuff. Perhaps taking the candles of whoever had them and using hollowed glass vials as illumination if need be.

currently dead? Is that dead now but could be alive later or undead waiting to animate dead or dead but can be revived?

Tyrrell lights a new torch and places it in a wall sconce near the desk in the middle of the room. It casts its light outward, managing to just reach the far ends of the long room. He considers the items in the room and searches his companions for light sources.
The room you're in was already described and searched. Let me know what further you are intending. You're putting them on the desk with the papers? Which one of them?
I believe you have 11 torches left. You retrieve 9 candles from Dorath's belongings. Please keep accounting of them.

Isn't that an excellent question? There seems to be a preponderance of undead in these parts...
Of course, resurrection of the dead is feasible but costly. Baudh doesn't respect those who lack the strength to perservere, generally. Gwanwen, however, will willingly trade souls. If someone from this expedition wished to give their life for his, then Gaeron could be returned. Not sure how that jives with Tyrrell's beliefs, of course...
Legally, the dead retain possession of their property until the Harrowing following their demise, should that become an issue (see Disposition of Property under house rules.)

Tyrrell

This next room has some stone tables, so the folk are better of resting above the floor, even dead Gaeron. Tyrrell will search around the place the trog was investigating prior to bring disturbed. He will also take the chest pins out of the body sludge and check them out.

"Miss Tog, if you please, what dwarven beasts lie beyond that make such accursed creatures? Can you secure this door behind us also?"
