Elodrien goes with him. "I'd have to be really hungry," she says in a tone pitched for the warrior's ears only.

Callista just follows along quietly as she often does, with whatever feelings or opinions that she might have hidden behind the neutral expression on her pale face.

Magdal likewise follows along in silence. Her thoughts lay elsewhere, missing home and her ma and siblings, hoping her father is somewhere ahead on the path and not dead in some ravine, and wishing a nice warm bath was somewhere in her future.

Magdal doesn't have to be told twice, so she stays close behind Eodrien.

"Okay," she says simply (as she often does.)

The group lead by Leonis makes its way deeper into the building and picks up a pair of Goblin guards before he turns to the left and pulls a floor to ceiling tapestry aside revealing a locked door. Leonis unlocks the door revealing a set of wide stairs leading down.

You go down these stairs about 15 feet and turn right into a wide corridor lighted dimly by lamps hanging along the walls. There are a pair of guards at the foot of these stairs, one joins your procession. After passing 3 doors, 2 on your right and one on the left, you turn to the left again. While the corridor you are on continues forward Leonis turns to the left and begins descending another set of stairs, again you go down about 15 feet. Two more guards are at the foot of these stairs and one joins you as you go past.

Leonis walks straight ahead from the landing. At the end of the corridor he turns left and stops at a metal door with two key holes, one near the top and one closer to the bottom. Another pair of guards are stationed here.

"Here we are." Leonis says taking out a set of keys and unlocks the two locks, "Can't be too careful with the treasury."

Leonis precedes you into the room. The room is lighted by a trio of globes that float near the ceiling. The light is dim, but you can see the room and its contents clearly.

You see that this is a sturdy room with tightly fitted stone blocks making up the walls, ceiling and floor. There are stone shelves along two of the walls with chests arranged onto the shelves with writing in Goblinoid on the wall above each chest. There is a square wooden table in the center of the room, low for you, but waist high to a Goblin. There is a closed book on the table. There are no chairs in the room.

Across from you is another stairway with iron bars forming a locked door leading up a set of stairs, "The Counting Rooms are up that way with the Record Room between here and there. The citizens of the town never enter the Treasury by this route...well, they never enter it at all, really, but they know it is down here below the Counting Rooms."

Leonis opens the book and examines it for a few seconds before looking up at you, "Now, how much as your reward to be, again?"

Valerin smiles sweetly, "The King said it was to be 480 gold, 20 for each of the 24 ears we relieved from their owners." He grins ferally "As they no longer had any use for them..."

...only two locked doors and four guards. Heck we might even be able to pull a heist off with fewer than eleven people... Going to guess everyone's going to be overstuffed and hungover tomorrow. Bosco's damned lucky we're just passing through ...

Which upon a moment's reflection, makes us the perfect patsies if Leonis decides to lighten King Bosco's purse...he could have just asked us this back up in the main hall and returned with the gold....

Valerin makes a mental note to mention this odd deal to Master Ross on the way back to camp.

Leonis chuckles saying, "Very well.", and moves over to one of the chests, opens it and begins removing small cloth sacks filled with, presumably, coin.

After removing 5 sacks he writes something on a ledger in the chest, closes the lid and carries the sacks to the table in the center of the room. Plopping them down on the table he takes a scale from under the table and weighs each sack, before pushing 4 across the table to your group, leaving 1 in front of him.

As he opens the remaining sack and begins taking gold coins from it Leonis says, "There are 100 gold pieces of gold in each sack. So these 4 are yours and after I remove 20 this one it is yours as well."

After counting out 20 from the last sack, he takes the coins over to a different chest, drops them inside and makes a notation on a ledger in that chest before closing it.

Then he goes back to the ledger on the table and updates it as well.

He looks up at you, "Is our business concluded now?

When it's safe to do so, Eodrien takes one of the sacks and puts it in her pack. "we can divide it later," she explains to her companions.

Valerin smiles and bows "Yes it is, Master Leonis, please give our great regards to the King..." He takes one of the sacks, pulls a few out to check them, then checks that it's tied tightly and tucks it into his robes. He gives the others the other sacks.

Darian will take the sack of 80. Feeling the weight, he decides not to swing it like a cudgel.

Leonis leads you all back up the way you came, making sure the door to the Treasury is locked as he goes. Once back outside the doors leading to the feasting area he stops and says, "You do have an invitation to come in and share in the feast, but if you'd rather not, just remain here and your Boss will join you when he is finished."

Leonis says with a smile as he opens the door, "He never stays long. I don't think the food agrees with his delicate human stomach."

Do you stay here or join Master Ross, King Bosco, and the others feasting on Orc?
