Ok, the wide-mawed bunny picture is a little disconcerting. True story, the same day I lost my virginity I was attacked by a rabbit. (Before you ask: the two events are unrelated.) I've always steered clear of rabbits since then. There are much sweeter and less impulsive rodents out there.

OM, did you know about this? Either way, this is awesome.

Of course. I've heard that story many times. :?

No, not really.......but I agree that it is awesome! :D

I have no idea what level Grima and Sharky are, but I'm hopeful that we're burning through their spell slots at a pretty decent clip.

Farmer Cotton got Grima pretty good with his fork before......well, you know.

Sharky on the other hand seems pretty healthy, considering all the hoses and stuff sticking out of his head. That staff of his seems pretty intimidating as well. :?

No, not really.

You could always throw your sword.....

Tell you what, I will say that each of you carries a pocket knife that could also be thrown. (1d3 dam)
Hi,
Does Pippin have proficiency in thrown rocks or knives, bow or sling?
Alternatively, can he reach Saruman this round to hit him with his sword, or steal his staff?
Is Saruman still holding his staff?
Thanks.

Thrown rocks and knives, probably, yes.

Bow or sling........not so much.

You could rush back down the steps, (no charge allowed) and try to take a swing, as long as it is less than half of your movement. (it is) Or, just jump down the 20 feet and hope for the best.

Saruman is still holding on to his staff.

Bah! Frodo was not meant to hurt anyone, it seems!
Just like in the real story.

Inferno wrote:Ever willing to meddle with magic, young Pippin scurries down and says, "Thank you most kindly, Farmer Cottontail!" as he picks up the wizard's staff in his two hot, little, eager hands.

He points the staff at Saruman and emphatically repeats any magic words the white wizard had uttered when he pointed it at Farmer Cotton. If Pippin hadn't heard any, then he would say, "I wish you were a slug!"

If the rabbit bite didn't cause Saruman to loosen his grip on the staff, then Pippin would strike the prone wizard with his elvish blade instead.

If no Staff, then Short Sword: To hit: [1d20+2] = 9+2 = 11, Damage: S/M: [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7, L: [1d8+2] = 8+2 = 10
Macro doesn't include bonuses for prone target, if any.
To avoid further confusion.....

Saruman is still holding his staff. (a rabbit bite, although pretty awesome, is not likely to affect that)

Grima was the one who turned Farmer Cotton into Farmer Cottontail, not Saruman. Grima still has his wand and isn't likely to give it up to Pippin. Although he most certainly could use it on him.

Oops. Sorry.

Since Pippin can't pick up Saruman's staff, he'll attack Saruman with his sword, as written. Thanks.

On the topic of bleed damage, never mind. I was thinking of pathfinder!

Thanks, Bluehorse and tkrexx. I'm enjoying playing with all of you.

OM, this was a great idea for a game. Did it play this well at the convention?

I will third the awesomeness of your last post. It almost brought a tear to my eye, and I'm a BAMF.

I have ran this twice now and it has played well both times. As you may have noticed, I try to keep my con games very straightforward and directionally focused. I find that to be the best way to keep interest up and the action flowing in a short, 4 hour game.

At Gamehole, the players spent a lot more time in Bywater, preparing the ambush and roleplaying with the NPC's. I think I find the aspect of FtF role playing with total strangers the hardest and sometimes most fun thing about running con games. Both times the conclusion was pretty similar to what is happening in this game, with some minor exceptions of course.

I am still debating if I want to run it one final time at Garycon in March or not. I have had some pretty good feedback on it so far so, that always helps. :D

Thanks. Again, it's a great idea for a game.

In other news, I think we all just missed Sharky!
OM: Any chance of some sweet opportunity attacks on an enemy retreating from melee? :D
