It feels like the players in this game have dwindled to JR, ateno, Terry and Darithe. I know Bob made it here, but he hasn't posted in a while. Bruce has posted once here, I think...back in November and Greg seems to have completely dropped out.

Thanks. Yeah, I've seen you, JR, ateno, and Darithe posting regularly. If we have to a party of 4 with NPC's can continue here. I'd love for Bob and Bruce to jump back in. I very much doubt Greg will as he posted an email to me that he was withdrawing the other day.

So I will be going into surgery tomorrow (Friday). Its a 2-3 hour surgery and 2-3 days in the hosp with 3-5 weeks off work. Please npc me appropriately until I am more coherent.

Jr, Eric, Terry and Darithe you appear to be the active players in this game, so I'm addressing this to you. If Bob, Bruce, or Greg see it and feel left out, I'm sorry. Jump right in and you won't be left out.

JR and Eric have probably seen this in another game, so mostly this is for Terry and Darithe. I don't feel like I've been keeping the games active, interesting and fun. I think a big part of it is I feel very spread out. The Traveller game is running great, the Fantasy games not so much. I'd like to consolidate down to 1 Traveller game and 1 Dnd game. With just two game to Ref/DM, I hope I can make the DnD game as good as the Traveller one has been. So, at least, one of the Fantasy games is ending.

However, I've been talking about running a Basic Rules/Hardcore Mode 5e game in the Looking for Players or Games forum and have gotten several folks that have expressed interest. With 5 or 6 people wanting that I feel sort of committed to giving it to them.

Thing is, I'd like to do it with them and with you (JR, Eric, Terry, Frank and Darithe)! It would be a Basic 5e game with some of the Hardcore Mode rules, so you'd need to redo your characters with 5e's Basic Rules at 2nd or 3rd level. The game setting would be the same as it has been and you'd still be just about to enter the Ruins to perform the same mission: run off the Orcs, find the scrolls, and explore the temple. You'd just be in a larger group with some new PC's who have joined you.

I need your input on this. If you all hate the idea, I'll have to rethink things, but I do feel like (a) something needs to change to make the game interesting for me (and likely for you) and (b) I do want to run that Basic/Hardcore game. I'd really like to do it with you.

Well, I have very limited experience with 5E, but I'm willing to do it. I might prefer to go with a new character though, if that is permitted. Thanks for including me.

To be honest, as story-based as I am, the game isn't likely to change much.

I'll be posting more details and bringing in other people to make characters and so on. However, I am doing this while Eric (ateno) is still recovering from his surgery and isn't here to chip in his two cents. I'll be going a bit slow for a while to give him and everyone else a chance to get acclimatized to things.
