Knight Light will study the watches, and when Eclipse gets a moment, will point out them out.

Eclipse will see if he can determine how long the computations will take and if printing the patient records out will disturb them:

System Operations (13-): [_3d6]=(6+1+3)=10
System Operations (13-): [_3d6]=(1+5+1)=7

(If he can print the data without disturbing the computations he will do so)

"Watches? Wierd. Maybe that's Plummers hobby. Assuming they are just watches and there's isn't something hidden inside."

You can print without interfering. You best guess on the completion time is another 48 hours, but the error bars on that estimate are pretty big. (In other words estimating completion time over a very short time period is not very accurate.)

Other than the one is partially assembled and the watches are on the expensive end $5K+ there is not much of note. You do not notice anything hidden inside, but granted you are not an expert on expensive watch mechanisms.

Knight Light will give the watches to Eclipse, to inspect when he has time. "There are three, well, two and a half. I wonder if they were for the victims? If they do anything? I can't tell."

Eclipse starts off the printing (which I assume will take little while), then takes a look at the watches:

Firstly he uses his metal sensing power on the incomplete one to determine it's composition, then repeats this on the complete ones to see if there are any significant differences. Then he proceeds to examine the incomplete watch looking for anything non-mechanical such as electronics, trackers, bugs:

Perception (13-): [_3d6]=(2+2+4)=8
Electronics (13-): [_3d6]=(4+3+1)=8
Bugging (13-): [_3d6]=(2+1+6)=9

He then opens up one of the complete watches and compares it to the incomplete one (using a small screwdriver and his fine telekinesis, assuming such tools were left by the incomplete watch):
Perception (13-): [_3d6]=(4+4+6)=14
Electronics (13-): [_3d6]=(5+6+3)=14
Bugging (13-): [_3d6]=(4+2+6)=12

The Conclusion
Thursday, July 9th, 1987

The three kidnap victims that made it to the hospital are all recovering without apparent complications at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital. The pages of medical documentation when they are reviewed by surgeons are yield some strange thoughts. The medical treatments appear to be nothing more than various exploratory surgeries - opening the person up with skill, and extended looking around and closing the patient up.

Eclipse spends a fair amount of time trying to unlock the mystery of the watches, but they all just appear to be fine watches that have exceptionally cared for. There are no bugs, strange electronics secret markings or anything else of note.

When the team is able to an expert down to understand the data that is being processed on the super computer it is gene research. The programs within the super computer are attempting to map the genomes of the kidnap victims and a patient X. The planned future use of the gene research is not clear, but reading between the lines it was the belief that supers are much more common is society than generally believed and that exceptional people are in fact supers that do not realize that they are supers. The kidnapping was trying to prove that conclusion.

If I missed something that I can clarify (not including what happened to Leech) - please let me know.

There are some mishmashes that all helped with get to the end point, but seem wrong given what you know.
  1. You did not capture the Leech and other than circumstantial evidence it is unclear how he was there and got away.
  2. Knight Light clearly saw the Little Green Man at the Star Wars conventions, but that pointed to the Leech not LGM
  3. Witnesses say they saw the LGM dressed in what was later found to be The Veil's costume, why?
Some super powers that you saw in action
  1. The Veil created the space ship when it was needed for the crimes.
  2. The Men in Black was an army of thieves - cleaning up the crime scenes
  3. Vibra was the alien tractor beam - her special effects left the strange patterns in the rooms

Eclipse will finally get some medical assistance.

Is there a Gosh facility he can go to and get treated without putting his secret identity in jeopardy?

Yes, you can get some treatment at John C. Kluczynski Federal Building from a clinic there.

Back Cover of Issue #3

As July turns into August and the heat and humidity are only reduced when the wind blows off the lake. All of your wounds are healed. Super crime in the city is lower, sure VIPER has pulled off some robberies and thefts and GENOCIDE openly stole a heart that was on the way to being transplanted, and DEMON performed some kind of ritual on a downtown roof top with a burning victim at the scene but all told no major events. From the Crusaders point of view it has been pretty quiet. Quiet enough for Dos Seso and Oleander "Oly" Pan to take their leaves of the team. Dos Seso is heading to California to take care of personal issues and Oly is concerned about several members of his Bonobo Tribe that have been killed and headed to the tribe in Africa to investigate.

Additionally there appears to be a universal time of togetherness in the area of global politics that there is no historical basis for.
  • With a few exceptions, there are most of the territories that United States offered statehood seem to be leading in the polls. Quebec is the exception and is slightly against but the rest of the Canadian Territories and Puerto Rico and Guam seem to be in favor or strongly in favor of becoming states.
  • There was an announcement of discussions on the creation of something to be called the "European Union"
  • You hear back from Oly that there are a few leaders of various states in Africa that are calling for an "African Confederation"
Experts (What experts? Top confidential US Government resources that's who.) have looked at the data and the evidence Agent McGinley reports the following findings.
  1. Leech was either a crazy loon or has a very sophisticated encryption technique on the data. There are all kinds of data that is plainly shows the connection between the base-pairs data is completely wrong. The experts think that there is some decoder that Leech took with him.
  2. It appears that the Men In Black appear to be able to split into 8 separate individuals, and they were fully integrated in prison. The problem is that there were NINE of them on the scene.
  3. Based on this fact and all the previous evidence that pointed to the Leech but then that face (LGM) turned out to be someone else - we have come the conclusion that Leech is a shapeshifter, and a darn good one. We believe that he was captured as one of the Men In Black and then when the Men In Black were reintegrating he used that time to some how escape.
