Game Rules Information — "Infallible Imperial Decrees"

#1 Post by Starbeard »

The Unseen Servant Dice Roller campaign ID for this game is #673. Please create a character there so that your dice rolls will show up in the game's log.

Short primers on the Rokugan setting and a house rules document will be made available to each player. Please familiarize yourself with them.

Posting frequency: I will strive for 1-2 updates per week, no more and no less (unless we all agree to a different post rate later). If you haven't posted, your character will be NPCed.

Rolling Dice: The game uses 'exploding' ten-sided dice, and a 'roll & keep' system. This means that all dice will have to be rolled individually. Unfortunately, the dice roller currently only shows the roll totals, not the individual dice. If you have to roll say, 4k4, then do NOT type "[4d10]" into the dice roller! Instead, type "[1d10] [1d10] [1d10] [1d10]", and be sure to reroll any 10s that show up.

Dice Macros: The dice roller can only hold five individual [1d10]'s before producing an error, so to make life easier, I have the following macros saved, so that I can simply click on the total number of dice I need to roll or reroll, then add up those I'm keeping. This requires a bit of honor system management (a player can roll the dice then decide whether or not to raise or spend a Void Point), but we're all honorable and I'm happy to live with that.

House Rules & Clarifications

We'll just start with a couple.

Combat
Initiative: 1d10 + Air rank. Pole arms always win initiative.

Archery: this normally uses Reflexes just as described in the rulebook, but you may also use Agility instead if you spend at least one combat round doing nothing but aiming. Shooting from horseback cannot use Agility.

Combat Movement: Characters will move 20 feet (indoors) or yards (outdoors) per combat round. If you take no other action and are not hampered by obstacles, you can run up to 40 feet/yards per round.
Wearing light armor reduces this to 15 feet & 30 feet, unless you have Earth 4.
Wearing heavy armor reduces this to 10 feet & 20 feet, unless you have Earth 4 (then it is treated like light armor).
