Prelude: A Night at the Depot [All]

Julia, Odin, and Channing

Sprinting past Julia, Odin and Channing head straight towards the area marked by the Exit sign. True enough, there is a security door with a press bar release in the back corner. A small sign states "Push until alarm sounds. Door can be opened in 15 seconds." Below it, a big white sign stating "Emergency Exit. Alarm will sound if door is opened" is plastered right above the push bar.

Odin pushes on the door, counting till 15 when the door is supposed to release but the door does not budge.

Meanwhile on the phone, the woman asks Julia, "Ma'am could you please confirm there is a fire at the location? We are not seeing an automated alarm. Fire services have been notified and dispatched but there is no indication of a fire."

"You fuckers better run! The police are on their way and I'm giving them your descriptions," Julia threatens, then follows through as she starts to describe each gang member she sees to the operator.

As Julia is describing the gang members, one pushes forward and looks directly at Julia, blood dripping down his chin like he just greedily drank from a punch bowl. He looks at the others in disgust. "She's holding a phone, not a flame thrower." As if breaking a spell, the gang members rush forward, the man with blood on his chin barrels toward Julia, raising a clawed (?) hand and swiping it down across her chin and chest. Julia falls to the ground, dropping her phone.

Turning from the door, Odin and Channing see one gang member with crazy finger nails slash his hand across Julia's chest, blood flying like a B-rated horror flick. But this is no movie as Julia crumbles to the ground dropping her phone. The man hops over her and bites into her neck like a crazed blood cultist from the '80's. There is little time for them to react as the other gang members bear down on them. As if there grudge to carry against them, the two gang members in front are the man who assaulted Odin back stage and the man whom Channing had run from in the front of the club.

There is little time for them to react as the other gang members bear down on them. As if there grudge to carry against them, the two gang members in front are the man who assaulted Odin back stage and the man whom Channing had run from in the front of the club.

Odin turns to Channing "you keep trying that door, sis, I need to go talk to this gentleman". He then turns around, and starts running towards him, before jumping up and axe handling him in the head "round two, motherfucker!"

Odin's attempt to achieve a crushing attack on the gang member fails miserable and turns into a perfect opportunity for a counter attack. The man is able to grab Odin by the neck and choke slams him to the ground. He follows up with two solid kicks to Odin's side as he lies on the ground. Everyone sees Odin loose consciousness from the man's vicious attack.

Before Odin and Julia lose consciousness, they see the gang members rushing Channing, pulling her from the door. And then everything goes hazy and black as a feeling of fatigue overcomes them with a force they have never previously felt before.

In the front of the bar, as Leo fights to overcome the same fatigue, he sees one of the gang members drag Laurel away kicking and screaming. His last thought is on her safety as opposed to his own welfare.

Meanwhile, the fire spreads quickly. Years of alcohol and god only knows what else help fuel the fire as it takes over and covers the walls. Those still able to carry their own weight flee like cockroaches exposed to the light, looking for a means to escape the death pit the Depot has become.
