Hans the Acolyte

Hans is the barely acknowledged bastard of a local Bishop by his favorite saucy serving girl. The sandy hair and bright green eyes of his father, along with his mother's charms, earned him a generous enough patronage in his youth. A solid education and decent quarters spared him any hardship til his mother's drawn out death of plague, and the replacement of most of the staff he's known since birth. Surrounded by strangers, save for his distant father, and crippled with grief Hans turned to drink. It was a pit he eventually emerged from, but a bad habit he's never shook, and he used up the last of his father's goodwill escaping the sentence due his drunken mischief and getting an apprenticeship as a healer. While never spotless his act cleaned up enough to complete it, and now a journeyman healer he's ready to seek out wealth, adventure and danger with the courage of one none too attached to this life or anyone in it.
