Pelias was once part of the indigenous ruling class of Dharta, one of the ruling wizard elite that could expect a life of privilege in return for a career of civic service. Like most of his class, Pelias is ambitious and he sought to climb the ranks of leadership a bit faster than was appropriate. This culminated with a scandal that saw him having to flee Dharta.

Since then he's been traveling and learning, searching for a way to reclaim his old status. He supports himself by acting as a marketplace diviner and by selling basic cures. He is an able scholar and physician, but finds the whole process tiresome.

I left that out of this variant. You can have extra Hero Points for extra flaws. So I think you'd have 7 Hero Points. You also could take the Suntouched boon and get the full range of spellcasting abilities (but with 6 Hero Points instead of 7).
