Skiiratch holds on to the rope, even as he queries, "But... didn't it say something about needing to have great valour if you chose the colour of night? I hope you have great valour, Master Quinn!"

"3 ft round tunnel eh?....too small for comfort, wouldn't Tics' be a better guide as he'll have a few inches to spare?" McCloud offers his advice. "and what is it about us that we prefer the 'unknown' to opening a door?"

McCloud will stay away from the misty archway and instead check out some of the orbs, starting at the bottom on the eastern wall.

Urdak also takes the rope and acts as anchor. This is something he can figure out! He'll let the thinkers deal with the thinking problems.

Skarlos looks into the tunnel with trepidation:
"Hmm I have a bad feeling about this.."

Razluki goes and joins those holding the rope, taking up a section and bracing himself.

You notice that Tix is not around. You're not sure if he even followed the rest of you out of the room with the 4 armed gargoyle.

A little further south McCloud finds that the Red sphere held at waist high by a chicken man is an illusion. It fades revealing another 3 foot diameter crawlway.

As Quinn crawls down the tunnel he can tell it begins sloping down and twists back toward (and probably under) the hallway. It twists on an on for some distance before coming to a dead end, just a blank stone wall.

"hey the chicken-man has laid an egg!! think he can deceive me with that one," McCloud will shout. He will check around the illusion, poking and prodding it with his thiefly 'tools of the trade' and put his torch through it to see what happens. If it is also a 3ft' diameter tunnel McCloud will call for Tix...he did arrive with the others in the gargoyle room didn't he, not done a Bindle and disappeared?

Finding himself at a dead end Quinn begins a thorough search of the area for any secret or concealed doors. He starts at the dead end and moves backward through the tunnel towards the rest of the group.

OOC: If he finds nothing he will return to the group, report his findings, and bring someone else back through the passage to search for any entrances.

You find a door at the very end of the passage.

Quinn checks the newly found door for traps before opening it. While remaining in the tunnel he uses his torch to illuminate the area on the other side.

OOC: Assuming there is no immediate threat Quinn will check on what is on the other side of the door and then return to the others to give a status report.

Quinn finds no traps and safely opens the secret door. You see what is obviously some form of temple area. There are scenes of normal life painted on the walls, but the people have rottingflesh, skeletal hands, worms eatingthem, etc. Yet there are also depicted various religious symbols of good alignment !?!?! :?

You see no signs of traps in the 3 foot tunnel.
Yes the halfling was indeed in the gargoyle room when you left it.

Seems as if we are making more of a breakthrough with these 'global' portals. Stepping away from the globe back into the hallway, I presume the illusion is maintained and the globe is back to black.

McCloud will retrace his steps back to the gargoyle room and check on Tix, he might just be cooking up some breakfast(?), plundering some hidden treasure chest or being strangled by some avaricious three-armed abomination?

(Are we agreed to follow bard Quinn into the 'chapel' area? Or do we want to finish exploring the mysteries of this hallway first? McCloud is happy to press on forward...)

When Quinn returns to the group he explains, “At the end of the tunnel there is secret door leading to a temple like area. Since the poem referenced the color of night, and this tunnel was found through the black orb, I believe that we are on the correct path.”

After climbing back up into the narrow hall and following it to the gargoyle room, you find Tix sitting alone in the dark just staring into space.

I think that is the plan.

Quinn makes his way back through the tunnel and into the temple. Once inside he follows the path on the floor using the butt of his spear to check for any pit traps.
