Varas sighs. "Let's at least question them a bit more. Where are they from, exactly, and what can they tell us of their lands? I'm not convinced they are friends."

"Aw, don't be so suspicious," says Lug. "These small people aren't a threat or they wouldn'ta run off at just seeing us. 'Sides, we still gotta get out of the forest. If you wanna question our new friends, why not do it on the way to Vaul?"

"Seems like they're from here and their lands are on fire," he adds.

For his own part, Niles will see if they understand Common, and if so, fall in by the cart as they walk to make friends and talk about their magic and illusion.
