Brotherton

#1 Post by OGRE MAGE »

Brotherton is your average, everyday, run-of-the-mill farming town that sits directly on a busy trade route between the two much larger cities of Crockport to the north and the Furyondy capital city of Chendl to the south. The town itself is not that heavily populated due to most of the farms being scattered about outside of the town proper. It does have the usual long time locals, family businesses, and it's definitely seen its share of travelers that have come and gone (or stayed) throughout the years.

The acting Mayor of Brotherton is the Lady April Mayweather, also the towns only living nobility. The Mayorship has been handed down for generations in her family, a bit out of the ordinary for most towns maybe, but the Maywethers have served the people well over the years and folks never demanded a change to the odd, monarchical practice.

Brotherton has all of the standard trappings of a normal town, including:

The Weary Traveler Inn and Tavern
Brotherton's Boarding House
Pitchforks Tavern
The Crusty Jug Brewery/Tavern
The Pounding Fathers Blacksmith/Wainwright/Stables
Yohans Mercantile
Temple of Pelor

There are numerous other businesses that offer a magnitude of services, but those listed are the ones with the biggest signs out front. If you want to find a specific business, just ask someone....

You can also see that the town is almost completely bordered on one side by a small river. More of a tributary really, (Crystal river) good for fishing and washing but it doesn't really lead to anywhere special. There is never a lot of boat traffic other than the fishermen.
