The group decides to hike the 3 days it takes to get to Mt. Everglow instead of taking the Paladins advice on devising a flight plan to get there much more quickly. (or should I say, bypass it completely) This decision does not bode well for party.....
The first days hike seems to be going by quickly despite the worsening weather. Morgi, in his eagle form, scouts out ahead and to the sides of the party. He can't soar quite as high now due to the lowering cloud cover and lightning danger, but he flies so much more quickly than the party walks, he covers serious ground by flying up to a mile ahead of them at times.
After nearly a full days travel, things begin to go bad. The weather is terrible as usual, with dark skies and the constant threat of rain or snow. The look of the entire mountain range is dreary and unwelcoming, the glow of the distant tower is the only thing lighting up the skyline.
Around early evening, just as the group is ready to find a place to camp for the night, Xano witnesses a disturbing sight. She sees Morgi make one last big sweep in the direction you are heading before returning to join the party. Xano has been watching the Druid closely, especially when she is the only one that can still see him from a great distance.
Suddenly, Morgi's flight path is drastically altered. It looks as though he was either swatted in mid air by something unseen or flew into some invisible force that he careened off of. In any case, the Druid now looks to be dropping out of the sky.
Xano does not see anything else in the sky other than the plummeting Druid. She estimates that he is easily over 3,000 feet away from the party at the moment and about 500 feet in the air.
