"Corporal Resen, how should we approach the village? Clockwise or counter?" As the village approached, he was ready to take either route she decided on.

Taking a moment to examine the tactical maps on the display in front of her, Resen replies authoritatively, "Counter."

James R Wexler – PFC, Com Tech

Wexler keeps his peepers on the scope, knowing full well that shit can hit the fan at any time. "Village green ma'am, Scope all clear. I got nothing. I don't like. They're laying an ambush I can feel it." He maintains his vigil at the scope, ready for the storm that is sure to come at any moment. "They're out there...Somewhere." Wexler continues to scan all the horizons, fore and aft, side to side, anywhere he can get the scope to read data.

As the APC rolls down the road, it is eerily quiet. It's not clear whether the simulator simply lacks contextual data, or if it's something else. Your waist rings rattle and jerk as the program simulates the bumps and rolls inherent to the vehicle.

Wexler, give me an Ob3 Scout test. Take +1D for the scope.

Antman: If you are facing a test that you are bound to fail (like 3D vs an Ob3 - which is pretty unlikely), you can take a -1D by describing how a trait works against you. That earns you a check, which can be used in the camping phase to recover form a condition. :)

That said, that test shouldn't be so difficult.

You could take an extra +1D from each of us because we all have that skill. (And if we didn't have that skill, you could still get a +1D for other relatable skills (as long as they are described well.)

Also, you are still fresh, I believe, so that is another +1D.

So your test should have been:
2d (Scout skill) +1D (fresh) +1D (scope) +3D (player assists) = 7D. Fair odds there, so you might still want to use your trait against you to earn a check.

If Enoch is okay with it, I think you ought to describe how we can all help you (advice, using our positions to look out too) and re-roll that! As an example:

PFC Langsley kept the transport along the ridges as they approached the town from the left, allowing Wexler to have the optimal view of the surrounding territory.

Yes, I absolutely agree. Although there's one primary scope, everyone can see outside--whether it's through a porthole or an auxiliary sensor of some sort. And you do have Fresh. Go ahead and re-roll.

Ob 3 on 7D is a pretty good bet. This may, in fact, be a good place to earn a check (which are used for free tests during the camp phase). It's a matter of risk vs. reward.

As Wexler mans the sensory arrays, Corporal Resen uses the spotting scope from her position at the con. This is a simulation... something always happens, she thinks. She is so focused on the obvious outcomes, as simulations tend to use, that she is blind to the unknown.

(2D scout +1D Fresh +1D Scope +2D Help w/o Wexler... or 3D help with Wexler and no scope, either way is 6D)
Scout roll 1: [1d6] = 2 [1d6] = 1 [1d6] = 1
Scout roll 2: [1d6] = 1 [1d6] = 5 [1d6] = 2

It actually matters whether you have help or not, so you need to decide before you roll the dice (anyone that helps is subject to any Conditions that occur). Since you indicated that you may be accepting help, I will assume that you were.

I am accepting all help. My statement was to allow room for if you were allowing Wexler along as an NPC, or if we're dropping him from the scene.

adding in my help for the roll.

Garrett keeps his eyes peeled, a happy grin on his face as he surveys the scene with the rest of the group, his hands always on the trigger, just daring anything to come at them.

He's essentially window dressing. He will not be making any rolls or offering Help, nor can his equipment be utilized in any way.
