Murq has not reached level 1 yet.

Murq will charge against the undead with his hammer:
Initiative = 11
Attack = 21 (natural 20)'
Critical = 1 (on Table I) = +1d3 damage
Damage = 5 + 2 = 7

Raven Crowking wrote:"Then open to me, heart, soul, and shadow, and yet will I save thee."
Jedak shudders, but there's no time to unpack the complex bundle of emotions behind that shudder. He glances at his courageous companions, and barely whispers "Save my friends, too."

If the GM will permit a small edit for clarification ...

Haha... oops! Maybe a little late on that one! :-)

Hopefully the timing works out; it's can get wonky in PbPs.

Even as Murq charges the un-dead, they cringe from the room, as though there was something within that they feared. As they back away, the dwarf smashes in the head of the distended-bellied one, which drops with an inarticulate cry. The ripped-gut one turns and flees (affording Murq a free attack, should he wish to take it).

1 XP each.

Jedak feels something dark and old enter his heart and soul, and his shadow seems to waver disturbingly in the darkness of the Barrowmaze. Together we shall grow strong, whispers the dark, old voice within him. He who is dead shall arise anew. It is clearly stronger now than it was at first.

Jedak gains +1 Luck, as does Murq for his heroics.

Murq will take opportunity of the free attack:

Attack = 7
Damage = 4

The attack misses, and the un-dead thing patters off into the darkness, although it does leave a trail of gore you could follow.

Otherwise, nothing now hinders your ascent up the rope and into the open barrow above.

Jedak feels a strange affinity for the stone halls growing within him. Although there are certainly hostile things within, and there is a sense that invasive forces have consumed much of the place, there is something at its very foundations which is no longer hostile to him personally.

"Wha...?" Grim is dumbfounded by what happened. (Assuming there's no outward manifestation of Jedak's Faustian bargain...)

"Who cares," Daryll says. "Let's get outta here. We need to rest, regroup, and recruit some torch-holders." As soon as Cisneros is done shimmying up the rope, he follows.

Grim grunts. "I'll go last," he says, and waits for Jedak and Murq.

Crap! I looked at your init roll. The skeleton has a 14 AC, and you hit. :oops: Jedak can have +1 Luck for pointing out judge error!

Grim also hits for 5 damage. The pitchfork only does half damage to the un-dead thing, for a total of 9. The skeleton shatters, bones falling to the floor.

Was just going back through the thread to count xp for Murq, and came across this: did you add +1 Luck for Jedak, Dumnbunny?
