OOC Discussion
Re: OOC Discussion
Well he did ask if anyone was interested and the response was a flat line.
So he took whatever he thought was good to carry. He certainly isn't gonna pass up an opportunity for treasure acquisition just because of the party's complete apathy.

Re: OOC Discussion
Fendt will gladly give up a portion of his share if one of the magical weapons is better than his +1 mace he will also offer up his mace.Cwreando wrote:Robert does some quick calculating and says, "Here is what we have in the treasure vault."
Strahd's Treasure Vault Items
Mace #1
Mace #2
Mace #3
Scimitar
Gems
Coral (130), Garnet (110), A pink pearl (120) white pearls (120, 200), 2x amber (100 ea.), Golden yellow topaz (100), Chrysoberyl (100), Periodot (1400), Alexandrite (dark green) (100), spinel (very deep blue) (1000), 2x amethysts (500, 100), Jet (200), Star ruby (1000), 2x fire opals (1000 ea.), 3x opals (1000 ea.), emerald (600), Sapphire (1000), Star sapphire (1000), black sapphire (5000)
Gem value = 17,980 GP
51,220 cp, 24,105 sp, 16,383 gp, and 1,055 pp
Current party makeup is 9 players and the town gets 1 share making it 10.
Each share is 5,127 CP, 2,418 SP, 3,438 GP, 105 PP
Odd coins were converted back down to the next lower value and added into that group as needed.
This doesn't count the value of the weapons so if someone gets a weapon that would come out of their share of coins and gems. So Castran can put the gems back. The black sapphire may be more than your share to begin with if you were trying to get that one.

Re: OOC Discussion
Why are we arguing over treasure in a one-shot adventure?
Take the weapons that you want, throw the gems in a sack, and leave the coin for now.
I don't think we need to kill each other over it.

Re: OOC Discussion
A couple of points on this.
I am tracking XP, and gold counts for XP if you can get the gold out of the castle to a home base. Something for those of you who lost levels (or will be losing levels) to think about.
Also, your characters don't know this is a one-shot, and I doubt many of them would readily pass up a heaping pile carefully stacked and sorted arrangements of riches.
Finally, there might be some ways to extend the adventure even after Strahd is dead and the castle scoured, if you're interested. Assuming any of you survive, that is.

Re: OOC Discussion
Which is not to say that Ogre Mage's approach is a bad one. Just that you shouldn't base your character actions on this being a one-shot.
Re: OOC Discussion
I would definitely be interested in further adventures if the spellblade survived intact

So lets split the weight evenly and proceed with the adventure.

Re: OOC Discussion
I agree with both Dram and Storm. I am in this for the possibility of future adventures after this is over. I am not treating it like a one-shot. Also even if so that is not how Fendt thinks. He's here for the glory, and to help purge the evil. I am in for more if Fendt survives even if not i know how to roll a new character and Zhym is by far one of my favorite DM's on here. Yeah I said it that does not mean I do not like anyone else currently that is DMing on here. Just means I really like Zhym's games. Anyways rambling on I like a large number of the games I have and or am in on here.

Re: OOC Discussion
I'm going to start paying more attention to when bright light affects dark elf Iluq. I think that's a fair tradeoff for getting to use dual weapons without a penalty. I've been ignoring the effect so far because Barovia is constantly overcast (in the best of conditions), but I'd forgotten that Continual Light also has a negative effect on dark elves.
Because I didn't allow the dark elf spell abilities, I'll reduce the penalties for bright light. The mogwai dark elf will be -1 to hit and -1 dexterity in bright light instead of -2 to each. If Iluq would rather be -2 and have some of the spell abilities, we might be able to work that out.
At the moment, the sources of light that will bother Iluq are the Sunsword when flaring (but not when undead aren't around), Tibbius's non-magical dagger with Continual Light cast on it, and Castran's short sword and axe with Continual Light cast on them. Torches, the non-continual Light spell, and the light given off by magic weapons won't bother him.
I think that paying attention to Iluq's light-aversion should increase the atmospheric element of the game and allow for some interesting role=play opportunities.

Okay, so a whole bunch of light to annoy Iluq.

Who made this cleric a dark elf again?!?
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.
Re: OOC Discussion
Someone about two players back.
This round is not going well for our heroes so far. No one has rolled a hit yet, and Bragar has a critical miss!

Re: OOC Discussion
Well... I blame the rest of the group thinking it was a good idea to make their weapons all freaking small portal suns....

And yet it misses.

What was the outcome of my critical miss. Yes I am probably lucky there was no counter attack.
