Transcosmic Awareness and Epiphanies from the Uber-Mind

Deep in sleep, his giant cranium supported by two pillows, Willius the blue elf dreams. He travels across a flowing ocean of grass and rock, propelled by warm winds singing elven songs of old. He feels another presence, a spiritual weight. It drives him lower toward the ground. He plunges through the grass to caverns below. It is warm and dark.

Glowing red eyes peer at him. Willius' infravision adjusts. He is looking at himself.

"Who are you?" asks the other soul inhabiting Willius' body. The elf starts awake, sweating, in his room. Another dream.

But then the voice inside asks again: "Tell me who are you?"

Willius is speechless.

That evening he joins fellow thief Marcanus the halfling in the private tavern of the Guild. They hear of this week's Guild for-hire opportunities:

1. Cult offers handsome bounty for clandestine desecration of rival temples
2. City government hiring freelance tax collectors for difficult accounts, paid by commission
3. Sewer patrol looking for assistance in cesspit pudding abatement
4. Temporary executioners sought after blood-soaked riot in city prison simultaneously reduced staffing and sent death penalty cases through the roof
5. Rewards available for list of known criminals still at large (bounty hunting licensing fee deducted from first capture)
6. Per diem workers needed for morning cleanup of high-mayhem streets/districts (Ambush Lane, Murder Street, Hell's Bunker, etc.) during festival season: bring your own high boots, strong stomach
7. City exterminators bolstering crews due to rampant urban stirge infestation
8. Black lotus dealer needs lesson taught to upstart competitors

A Dream of Flying

Willius is aloft again, his blue body soaring through morning fog, up past a flock of geese, alighting upon a cloud. His body frictionless to the elements. His mind contemptuous of altitude. It is a familiar feeling made new.

His smiling face frowns as he struggles to give voice to these feelings.  A word... a phrase...?

"Ki..." It fades from mind. He sifts through sands of perception, searching for sparkling vowels, elusive consonants. "Mo..."

Willius awakens, shivering from the open window he remembers closing last night.
