Ground Rules Discussion - Dice Rolling

I have a few things to roll by you all, and want your feedback. I am including a poll about my first idea which is about dice rolling. I would like to use real dice and no dice rollers. It is my hope we can all be trustworthy.

Because of when I post (usually at work), and my work environment (large office), I probably won't be using real dice most of the time. But it doesn't matter to me what anyone else does. I won't be suspicious until someone rolls 10 To Hits of 15 or greater in a row and makes every save.

Cool Al. One could always use a roller if needed, or by preference. I have all of these really awesome dice in front of me, and would love to use them.

Your dice porn is amazing. I was following you somewhere when you first picked up the super amazing cool metal dice! I was and am still jealous! . I remember a picture of your kitchen table, you had just finished gaming or were about to begin a dungeon crawl with your kid. I think the metal die was prominent in that pic - maybe I am merging things together through my shotty memory. Regardless, awesome dice!

Funny... I'm more drawn to the ratty old blues that came with his boxed set from back in the day.

Al you are a sucker for nostalgia, and there is nothing wrong with that. Before I lost my dice, in a move, I still had my white d20 from basic - though it was a bit round. I think had my pink d8 or d6 too. I am not sure anymore, the loss of all of those dice still bugs me to this day.

Thanks. That other picture of the table set-up was someone else. My kids aren't old enough to play RPGs yet, though my daughter likes TSR boardgames Awful Green Things, Dungeon, Warlocks & Warriors and the lesser-known late 80's game Elixir.

First of all, sorry for the wait. I had to get my account here re-activated by email... It has been quite some time since I've been here.

So, about the poll. I actually prefer the GM do this for PbP, even though I am very new to PbP in general. It just seems to be a great way to work it as I read it in the games I've seen over at OD&D proboards.

But! That doesn't mean I absolutely have to have it that way; I'm just voting truthfully. If you all decree (DM especially, heh) that we roll our own dice, I'm game for it.

I could roll for everyone, if we thought that was the best route, but we ha e those dice, I rarely get to use mine in real life, so I thought we would roll our own. Plus there is some player agency, grasping your own fate as you reach for a die and toss it.
