Part 2a: The Village Contingent: Pig-napping Most Foul!
Re: Part 2a: The Village Contingent: Pig-napping Most Foul!
Okay, I'm hitting the fast forward button: let's have an DEX check for sneaking and a WIS check for perception from both of you to cover the whole search.

Dex
PbP Forum code: [1d20] = 19
I spend a fortune point to reroll the Dex check:
PbP Forum code: [1d20] = 2
Wis
PbP Forum code: [1d20] = 14
If it's possible to spend another fortune point I will do so:
PbP Forum code: [1d20] = 4

DEX Check: [1d20] = 13
If you allow the add +5 with a fortune point, I would use that here. If not, I'll take the failure.
WIS Check: [1d20] = 18
fail

You make your silent survey of the entire camp.
Most of the camp appears to be exactly what you would expect: sleeping laborers.
At the far end of the camp are a group of five tents set up in a slightly removed spot from the other tents. These tents are empty. Four of the five tents are arranged as all the others you have seen: two cots to either side. The tent furthest from the rest of the camp, however, does not have any cots in it. A palette of blankets have been arranged here, making a large bed that fills most of the interior space.
Among the blankets, you find a woman's shawl. It is knit with a fisherman's knot technique. It has a sour smell.
There is stable, full of draft horses. There are six empty stalls, all next to each other.
The search takes hours, and when you finish, you figure that, if you head back to town, you'll get their right around dawn.

After the searching is complete, Simon looks to Jonas. "Those horsemen you saw earlier. You didn't notice if they were carrying anything with them did you? I think they must have taken Wilbur with them to the north woods...."

Jonas thinks deeply on what he saw when Ernt met the riders and left, trying to recall any detail that could be relevant.

You can't say for certain. There were some bundles on the horses. It is possible one one of them might have been a bundled pig, if the pig were drugged or dead.zebediah wrote:Jonas thinks deeply on what he saw when Ernt met the riders and left, trying to recall any detail that could be relevant.

Simon rubs his weary eyes. "There is nothing to be done about it now. We'll have to return to town. Tomorrow is another day. We just have to hope that Wilbur is still alive."
